Striker Andy Little on lookout for new club

Recommended Posts

When you have to fall back on David Healy in a debate, its game over, even bringing midfielders into it. C'mon mate. We had no one else.

Funnily enough, I thought Healy did reasonably well when given a chance, albeit clearly lacking match fitness. He's obviously not got the strength and aerial prowess of the mighty Jig though.

Bedoya was played as a right mid and for most of his games and, much like Little when played there, didn't look too impressive. Given a chance in a striking role at the tail end of the season though and he looked a completely different prospect. I don't see why the comparison is so ridiculous, especially when Aluko and Naismith could similarly be classed as midfielders.

I like the front 3 of Aluko, Naismith and McCulloch, i must say. :-)

OK for the sake of agreeing with you on something in this thread.

I'm really excited at the prospect of having Naismith and Aluko tormenting defences next season. Would be a disaster to lose one never mind both of them.

I also think Jig will continue to be really useful in a CF role, but not necessarily suited to every game.

Either way we will need options and cover up front, both through the centre and in wider areas. If we lose Little and Kerkar, we'll be left with Lafferty (although I doubt it), Bedoya & Fleck - plus Ortiz and Wallace if you want to count defenders in an attacking sense.

Assuming we don't have a transfer embargo and the millions promised by CG are pouring in, then I'm all for your preference of strengthening with 'the best' ...I just don't see it (and haven't seen it for a long long time) as being the reality of our situation.

Healy has been finished as a footballer for a good few years now, sure he ran around but like Little, he lacks so much to offer a club with the ambition and demands of one like Rangers.

Bedoya is another who was pushed up simply because Ally had no other option. There was one stage last season i seen Kyle Bartley being thrown up there.

Aluko and Naismith are midfielders in my opinion, despite Naisy having played up front previously at times, i picked them as part of my front 3 but not as strikers, i don't think it is possible to play with 3 out and out strikers, they are wide men off a central striker, being Lee, as part of our once favoured 4-5-1 formation.

They are the only 2 i don't think we can afford to lose. Our 2 most important players in my mind.

Guys like Ortiz, Healy, Kerkar and Little will hopefully move on and we will easily replace them with better.

We always seem to over think things or make things hard for ourselves at Rangers, its not a hard game, its actually very easy, especially when you are good at it.

You're optimism is a breath of fresh air mate....better than the 'doom and gloom' of most posters here myself included.

I don't think he should be offered a new contract and have never said otherwise.

Easier said than done, but I wouldn't be complaining if you turn out to be right, just so long as we can do so on a budget that won't put the club in jeopardy.

Sorry, you lost me there. As far as this discussion is concerned I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Sayonara.

The Great Salim offers 10000% more than Little can ever do. If Andy wants to walk then fair enough, cheers for the goals and best of luck. But you're so not Rangers supermarket.com it's unreal.

Bedoya was pushed up there because Ally was assessing his options imo. Bartley on the other hand (Was that not a last throw of the dice from Walter?) was thrown up there for much the same reason as McCulloch. It just turned out that McCulloch was good at it.

We all see and read football in different ways, thats what makes it the best sport int he world, i seen Bedoya up front as a desperate act by a coach with no other option.

The difference between Barts and Lee up front is one grew up a striker and one is an out and out defender. And i do agree, McCulloch is good at it! :-)

Absolutely, it must be done whilst living within our means, that doesnt mean quality has to suffer though.

That was more a minor criticism of the club overall and fans in general.

We will get it right i am sure.
