Lafferty in talks with Huddersfield Town

Recommended Posts

Perfect. Ignore the entire post and just repeat your previous opinion. Congratulations, there's a slot on Question Time just waiting to be lapped up with your debate technique.

Think you need a rest mate, this season seems to have been to much for you.

I think you need to take time and read things before digging yourself so deep mate, what a very strange responce you have taken to a thread that has not been full of anything other than people being honest about what they feel about a player.

Funny how you're the only one acting pretentious about it. I've respected the views of others, engaging them in debate, but you're the one making bizarre comments like this and ignoring posts which prove you wrong.

I'll think twice before addressing you in the future.

Matter of fact, I have been quite impressed by Little performances and the ability shown by Hemmings and McKay. Add to that McCulloch, Aluko, Naismith and Kerkar ... where would you play Lafferty?

Hemmings was a season ago. He hasn't/barely featured since last pre-season! Aluko's not a striker, neither is Naismith, neither is McCulloch, neither is Kerkar tbh. Little did quite well but if the honest line of debate here is that we have Andy Little and Kane Hemmings therefore there's no slot for Lafferty, then it appears the football side of this debate is being completely ignored.

Are you honestly saying we can happily afford to sell Lafferty?

All of you - right now Kyle Lafferty is our best striker - in a current first 11 if fit he'd start. I agree his personality is a little off beat and he has a bit of the immaturity about him, but so did Wayne Rooney at the same age.

Your attempts at patronising are absolutely woeful.

That would be the case if i was trying to be patronising mate, but as you are a fellow Gers fans thats not what i would do.

I really dont get you attitude mate, i think your really getting a bit worked up over something that did not happen. Remember you just made up the bit about me hating him.

Ok, you appear to be being a little more reasonable here. Your post at him appeared very critical, and as Lafferty has had something of a love hate relationship with our fans, it was a reasonable comment to suggest you, like quite a lot of Rangers supporters, hated him. You made some quite snarling comments about him, and I felt it implied a strong dislike at best.

Do you really, really think we can afford to let a player as good as Lafferty go simply due to a few character flaws? His record for us since the split, as I showed you, of 2010/2011 has been very good. His goal ratio is impressive for such an injury disrupted period. We need to hold onto guys like him, especially in these circumstances where our squad is thinner than Kate Moss.

This season ...

Sone Aluko - games 21, goals 12

Andy Little - played 11, goals 5

McCulloch - played 31, goals 5

Kyle Lafferty - played 22, goals 7

Steven Naismith - played 15, goals 9

Are you honestly saying we can happily afford to sell Lafferty?

I thank him for each of his 31 goals so far for Rangers, not least those winning the titles. I will thank him for each further goal he scores for Rangers. As long as people are giving it their all for the club, I will be unhappy to see them go. If they are here because they are footballers and wanting to earn their money and further their careers ... and jump ship for some greater club, I'll be indifferent. If they go to a club like Huddersfield and leaving us when we're in dire shyte and possibly having no chance to replace them, I'll say "Thanks for the memories!" and wave a good-bye.

Honestly, I was always a bit indiefferent about Lafferty. Cost too much and went in and out of the scoring charts, though usually came up with the good in the important bits of the season. He got his chances and had his time to impress. If he decides, much like Jelavic, to call it a day at Ibrox, no problem. He will not be replaceable though. Whether Little - whom we "utilized" as a right winger or even fullback remains to be seen. Hemmings and McKay will or would never really get a chance to impress while we have a Lafferty ahead of them. Sometimes, the need to blood talented youngsters unravels a gem or two - e.g. McCabe. Whether these two can step up to the plate remains to be seen. And no, I don't think having aging McCulloch up there (who actually is like Little a striker by trade) as our main target man is the way ahead. But having players willing to give it their all for the jersey would be a start.

Danny what i think or what you think counts for nothing, he has a clause in his contract and can leave and we cant do anything about it.

I gave a fair assesment of him time at Rangers imo, which i stand by.

I hope he stays, esp if we cant sign any players but if he wants to go thats his choice.
