Heavy rumour about Naismith doing the rounds.

Recommended Posts

Honestly, aside from Aluko, McCulloch, and possibly McGregor, I'd have Naismith when it comes to players NOT leaving. Going by their body language and the way they spoke about the club lately. IMHO, Jela begging Naisy to follow him has been taken up by some doom-monger and transformed into a bad story on the eve of possibly massively good news. (And yes, I've heard enough player talk by now to know that what they say one day and what they do the next ain't exactly matching up.)

I love Naismith, I really do but that's two serious knee injuries he's had now so it's debatable whether he'll continue to develop on his return to full fitness.

I'd rather he didn't leave but who can blame any player if they're exploring other opportunities given all the uncertainty.

You do wonder when agreeing on these new contracts ... was the clause for the pay-cut and a subsequent easy-transfer stuff indeed tied to Whyte still being at the helm? So theoretically, if Green takes over and the contracts switch back to normal on June 1st, we might at least be able to get some more serious money than what the vultures will give us now. BTW, pretty poor opportunistic showing by the rich-EPL teams. (And yes, I would say that if we were looking at other teams' players too.)

I'm with Frankie. £4m for him is an absolute snip but remember we're in administration so it's a pretty decent offer too. The chances of him picking up another serious knee injury look likely due to his previous.

Only problem is he's the one player we can least do without in that we simply cannot afford a like-for-like replacement. Even Davis could be covered by McCabe and Ness, but who could fill Naisy's boots from the youth pool?

All I heard was 2m and 4 year deal ... then again, one should check his twitter to see what the lad has to say himself.
