Ticketus step up cash fight with Whyte

Ex-Gers owner pursued after CVA deal

TICKETUS last night vowed to step up their legal fight with Craig Whyte â?? after agreeing a cash deal with Rangers.

The firm wonâ??t oppose a company voluntary agreement that would see them pick up a fraction of the £26.7million owed by the skint club.

Instead, The Scottish Sun has been told they will pursue ex-Gers owner Whyte for the disputed dosh.

The insider said: â??Ticketus donâ??t see any point in blocking any CVA deal offered to them by the administrators.

â??That is good news as far as Rangers are concerned. Ticketus are intent on getting their cash back from Craig Whyte.â?

Whyte â?? who sold his shares to new Gers boss Charles Green for £2 â?? has until midnight on Friday to respond to legal action launched by Ticketus last week.

The firm want to claw back the cash which he borrowed from them against future season ticket sales to fund his doomed takeover last year. The source added: â??Ticketus will step up their action if he doesnâ??t respond to them.â?

The move comes as administrators Duff and Phelps prepare to announce on Friday how much creditors will be offered to seal the CVA.

Creditors will get a certain amount for every pound they are owed. Rangersâ?? bill to HMRC â?? excluding the â??bigâ?? and â??smallâ?? tax cases â?? stands at £14.3million.

Ticketus â?? who last week saw their season ticket contract with the club terminated by Duff and Phelps â?? could block the deal, but said they wonâ??t do so.

Last night a Duff and Phelps spokesman said: â??A CVA proposal will be issued to creditors later this week and it will be for creditors to vote on that accordingly.â?

A Green spokesman said: â??From the outset our consortium made it clear the CVA route is our preferred option.â?

A Ticketus spokesman said: â??We only comment on things after they happen.â? Whyte refused to comment.

Good news if they agree to the CVA. Now wait for the BBC documentary to put the boot into the club again later today.

I'm hoping just for once they aim their guns at the two people responsible and not the club, maybe asking for too much when it's the Pacific Quay CSC.
