European chances in two years

Recommended Posts

Even some of the best strikers in the world often miss sitters. As der Berliner says, that's football. The game should be about winning as a team and losing as a team. Sometimes howling individual mistakes make all the difference, but sometimes excellent individual performances make all the difference. The problem is that it's difficult at times to not separate the villains and hereos from the rest of the team performance especially when horrific errors or sublime strokes of genius are the most memorable moments.

Completely agree, i just felt Jelavic was being singled out unfairly for a bit for stick.

Yeah, he was. The finger's been pointed at various people for the euro exits to Malmo and Maribor, but it started with it all supposedly being Ally's fault which I think is unfair, but at the end of the day if people want to put all the blame on Ally that's their prerogative. Large numbers of people wanted Walter sacked after we went out to Kaunas, but ended up changing their tune when he went on to keep winning domestic silverware. It's just the nature of the game and players get it too. A few years ago there were quite a few people saying they didn't think Naismith was good enough, but very few people say that these days.
