Utterly divided support

Recommended Posts

That's not answering the question.

Why are the Trust struggling for numbers and why are TBK struggling for overwhelming support?

last poll on rm had them at over 90% support.

it does seem strange that its ok to criticise tbk but not the other bids.

why can't the rst support tbk. why can't anyone without being attacked.

why is it ok to repeatedly say tbk have no cash but its not ok to say there are clear links between Ellis club 9 and miller.

it's almost mythical how TBK supporters always say TBK have detailed their bid,

So how much was TBK's best and final bid. ?

Where is the cash coming from to fund a CVA ?

How will they keep the club going in the months til that happens ? (Assuming it did)

How will they deal with HMRC ?

They previously stated a deal can't happen without Ticketus. What changed. ?

When the share issue touted fails to reach the target, where will the underwriters get the money and who will fund that ?

Can any of TBK's fans clear some of this up ?

all valid questions.

as they were when asked of miller.

A few things.

It is perfectly fine to criticise all bids - and I've seen that happen across the community. Similarly, there's no problem with supporting any single bid (or indeed opposing one). But say why and offer details.

I'm still puzzled as to why the Trust is struggling to be our focal point and I think TBK should have more support as well. That's not being obtuse just a genuine observation.

You can support whoever you want that's not the problem, the problem starts when you don't hold both parties up to the same scrutiny. I've never heard the RST ask The BK's the same questions as the rest of the bidders.

TBH I think the 90% vote on RM was more to do with people wanting to have Scottish owners rather than ones from outside the UK. I am on FF as well and they have pushed TBK, which is not wrong in itself, where I have the problem is that not giving balanced information on the various bids. I am judging that on e-mails sent to me from them.

Do the RST want to be seen as a party who will weigh up all the bids evenly? I would say that they, along with the Assembly and the Association, by jumping into bed with TBK from the start, nailed their colours firmly to the mast.

Obviously not CJ, they really could've stole a march in all this mess and came out smelling of roses. Instead we have what looks to me as a clumsy power grab.

Ok, I have to say for all the splits I've been mentioning, there seems to be one repeating issue which has plagued us for years and is more than prevalent in this thread.

That being pro-RST V anti-RST.

It all seems to boil down to Dingwall's group and those who disagree with them.

Am I wrong?

Here are a couple of articles from our website. Note that all three groups attended the initial meeting with Paul Murray and were impressed by his plans. However, the RST also urged any future bidder to speak to the fans. Maybe we publicly didn't question TBK bid because we knew the answers. We set out our position in terms of what we wanted and what we didn't want. If people disagree then that is up to them.

Fans Meet With Paul Murray

Tuesday, 21 February 2012 12:47

The Board of the Rangers Supporters' Trust and representatives from the Supporters Assembly and Supporters Association met with Paul Murray, who has registered an interest to buy with the administrators of Rangers FC, on Monday night in Glasgow.

Fans representatives stated that they would work with any bidder to ensure the survival of the club but that to be credible any incoming consortium would have to demonstrate that as well as making financial sense their business plan ensured that never again would the club be run on the whim of a single shareholder; that the Board was truly representative of the various stakeholders; that value was retained within the company; and that good governance was paramount to safeguard the long-term well-being of the club.

Mr Murray explained his position in broad terms - the scale of the problem is still to be fully established but he expected the work of the administrators would shortly provide an accurate picture of the finances of the club. He stated that the goodwill of the broad mass of fans was absolutely vital to save the club in the short-term and to enable it to prosper in the long-term.

Mr Murray stated that he would be working in the coming weeks with colleagues and the administrators to obtain a clearer view of the current financial position; the reality surrounding the Ticketus contract and the validity of securities granted to various parties. It was agreed that Mr Murray would provide updates on the progress being made.

The meeting ended with the Trust Chairman Gordon Dinnie reiterating the position of the three fans groups being that never again should the club be put in such a position and that all proposals regarding the club would be measured against the principles of democratic control and good governance.

Trust Still Keen To Talk To All Potential Bidders

Wednesday, 14 March 2012 22:02

The Rangers Supporters Trust today reiterated its open invitation to all potential buyers of the club to talk about the future of Rangers.

Trust Chairman Gordon Dinnie said - â??Fans are the biggest investors in Rangers and have a life time stake in the club. It is vital that we learn lessons from the past so the club should never again be the property of a single individual. A partnership between high worth investors and fans will maximise investment in the club and ensure accountability and transparency in the future. Our door is open to all interested parties and we are keen to work with potential purchasers to secure a viable way forward.

The trustâ??s position on any takeover will be guided by the following principles:

â?¢A deal must remove the threat of liquidation and returns the club to being a thriving institution.

â?¢Support for a CVA that puts the club on a firm financial footing.

â?¢No one person can again run the club on a whim. Rangers supporters should be a key partner in any deal

â?¢Should include measures to ensure governance of the club is greatly improved and democratised.

â?¢Should greatly expand the ownership of shares in the club.

â?¢Provide a roadmap with regard to the operation of a meaningful club membership scheme.
