Of course, it begs the question about who would by it? Methinks when Real Madrid was neck deep in shyte (which they always are, but no-one cares), they actually sold their stadium to the city of Madrid (I assume the Atletico fans will have welcomed that) ...

That was with their training ground and wasn't a straight deal between the two parties.

PSV did it last season for 48mill euro's and bolstered their team. They are still just fighting for second place and failure to tie up that second CL place will mean a large chunk of that money has been blown with no great improvement. I fear it is a short term fix and would prefer not too. I do think to say never, never never, though is a dodgy statement as it may be the only way to save the club. I will say no but if it is the last resort then I would take that option.

No but id be up for renaming it to I-brox sponsored by Apple.

That my friend is a brilliant i-dea.

I wonder if Mr. Miller has thought about something along those lines.

Those who are dead-set against the idea, what are your objections to it?

Bacause as already stated , the lease is generally over a decent time span ie 25 years etc and the money will be long gone before then , a bit like the kit deal its all about short term thinking.

There is a massive difference to doing it when you are financially stable and the money can be invested and interest withdrawn as and when required

Indeed, it was just part (!) of their training ground ... Euro 270m to clear their debts (who stand by some Euro 240m now), and it does not matter who actually bought it. Methinks Spanish banks hand Barca and Real very generous deal anyways, given the state of their country.

IMHO, Miller should try to get a deal done with AEG and/or O2 as stadium and shirt sponsors, possibly also trying to sell the area next to Ibrox for another O2 World or the like. Makes sure more sense than casinos or whatnot.
