I don't see why we should support McLeish just because he came out and supported us recently. The guy's a shockingly poor manager who has got lucky throughout his managerial career. Once he leaves Villa he'll struggle to get another decent job.

Sometimes a manager and a club aren't suited. Paul le guen with us for example. He has had a lot to deal with injury wise and the fact that even their full strength squad isn't as good as 3/4's of the leagues squads. Playing 6 or 7 young boys who should be playing in the reserves due to injuries etc hasn't helped. The premier league isn't somewhere you can make mistakes. They'll grow up a lot this season.

With 17 draws they are either a goal away from becoming a very good team or vice versa a bad team. First half of the season they were nearly a very good team, second half I'd say a bad team but losing Bent, Petrov, N'Zogbia and a few others didn't help. His Brum team were excellent at the back. It's strange they lose so many goals from set pieces. Dunne and Collins were excellent a few years ago. Bannan, Delph, Herd, wiesmann, luchaj, Clark, Delphonso and Gardner have all featured a lot in the first time. All young boys who just aren't ready for the premier league who he's had to play.

He hasn't done well enough and he'll need a bit of quality to improve the squad in the summer (if he stays) but its been against them. Villa aren't the club people think they should be anymore. They are very much in that pack of 15 teams who could go down next season.

As for saying he is an awful manager, that's a bit ridiculous. He took Motherwell to 2nd, 7 trophies with Rangers (making us 15 million in the time he was with us) against a very good Celtic team, best win percentage as Scotland boss and almost qualified from the death group, took over an already sinking Brum side and took them to automatic promotion first time of asking, took Brum to 8th on a shoe string budget, won the Carling Cup and 1/4's of the FA Cup, got Brum into Europe. Ok they got relegated but he wasn't allowed to strengthen which led to them being relegated. One bad season at Villa doesn't make him an awful manager. Being a good manager and a lucky manager go hand in hand. Is Fergie a lucky manager?

Rumours on the internet that Villa are managerless. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Eck will end up back in The Championship with Hull or some other run of the mill team.

I think Villa have been unlucky with injuries this season, with little or no money to spend either McLeish has kept them up and i'm sure he will be there for at least the start of next season. They have a few youngsters there who look good prospects but they need to invest or will be a bottom of the league club from now on.
