Paul Murray On Radio Scotland

Recommended Posts

Didn't hear it myself so have copied what I have read.

Murray just confirmed that his bid was re-confirmed on thursday. They havent asked for a delay or more time. The blue knights not affected as they want a CVA.

Paul Murray understands the SPL proposals for clubs that go into administration/liquidation will only come into place on the first day of next season and his bid was confirmed on Thursday

He says the clauses in the player contracts are basically to protect the players/club from another Whyte situation he says he would sit down with the players many of whom are Rangers fans and re-assure them of his plans to help the club regain stability but basically says it's a re-building job

If anybody heard the interview please add.

Admins said this in a statement.

"Inevitably, bidders are now considering this information and will have to take a view as to whether it will affect their individual bids as they now stand. The result is a delay in the sale process. We hope to receive feedback from bidders as soon as possible in order for us to take the sale process forward as quickly as we can.

As far as I have seen with Murray saying their bid has been re-affirmed. That is all 3 bids been confirmed.

Can we expect a statement on Monday from the Admins.

Serious questions have to be asked about these admin guys, every they drag this out it is harming our ability to come out of administration. There are three bids in and have been confirmed, what are they waiting on now?,what reasons will they agree to selling to one/any of the bidders?. We fans still don't know what these bidders have planned for the future of Rangers, yet our destiny lies in the hands of the administrators!.

I just want my fucking club back,so I can only hope that whoever takes over really has the interest of the Rangers at heart?.

I'd fancy Monday will see a preferred bidder named.

Not sure any bidder will be eager to pay the £500K exclusivity fee though given D&P's failure to deliver Whyte's holding and clarify Ticketus situation, not to mention HMRC uncertainty.

It's a hell of a lot of uncertainty for them to be able to conclude a sale of the club & bring us out of administration. It looks to me as if D&P might be trying to get the preferred bidder to buy Whyte out rather than forcibly remove his shares from him in court. Doing it in court is something that could take a considerable amount of time because Whyte would be able to appeal any initial decision and delay the matter by months (see the case of Wrexham FC). Anyway, I think an impartial administrator should have (and would have) taken the ownership issue to court immediately in order to get full control of the shareholding at the earliest date possible, especially considering the manner in which Whyte acquired the club.

The point remains that much of what we talk about here is conjecture based on lack of knowledge. We are only getting so much info from the admins and the bidders, thus it is hard to know what is really going on behind these closed doors. I for one do assume that the admins as well as the bidders have talked to or will talk to Ticketus and that side of any deal has been evaluated. HMRC appears to be happy for the time being*, as long as they don't have to deal with Whyte any longer - which, of course, should be nothing of Rangers' concern, as both appear to have a previous. If HMRC uses Whyte as a beating club, certain people should ask certain question at HMRC's HQ.

*That is, as long as someone pays their 9m+ VAT and PAYE stuff. We'll see what comes of the "big case" and how they react to that.

I'd love to have been a 'fly on the wall' at the various meetings held between the administrators and Craig Whyte and also any meetings between the administrators and David Murray.
