Aluko's Agent In Contract Talks With Foreign Club Officials.

Sone Aluko has told STV he's happy to wait until the summer to discuss his future at Rangers, despite being linked with a move to La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano.

 

The Nigerian's current deal keeps him at Ibrox until the end of the season, and though Rangers have the option to extend his stay by a further two years, the financial trouble at the club has cast doubt over his long-term future.

 

"I wouldn't be against staying here, I'm enjoying my time at Rangers and enjoying my football here, so we'll sit down and talk at the end of the season and decide from there" he said.

Aluko's comments came after a Rayo Vallecano spokesman said the club had held talks with the player's representatives in Glasgow, and that they believed Aluko had all the qualities necessary to play in La Liga.

 

Aluko admitted he was flattered by Rayo's interest in him.

 

"It's a sign you're playing well. It's always going to happen when you play at Rangers. All the players have been linked to different clubs, even the manager!"

 

The Rangers forward insists he's focused firmly on football, and he doesn't feel pressured into discussing his contract.

 

"I've got games to focus on and that's all I'm focusing on - playing, taking care of my football, and the rest will take care of itself. There's no rush to discuss my future in the next couple of weeks."
