There is also something else that seems to have been overlooked here. Dunfermline were fined £20k by the SPL not that long ago for charging Rangers fans more for tickets than their own fans.

A point which is ignored when it comes to those who say we should punish Dundee United.

When was this? I've googled it and can't find any story related to it? Are you making this up?

From November 2006

DUNFERMLINE have been hammered with a £10,000 SPL fine after being found guilty of charging Rangers fans more than their own supporters when they play at East End Park.

A Rangers supporters organisation reported the Pars after being forced to pay £23 to watch the league clash in August - while home fans were charged £19 to sit in the same stand. But Dunfermline claims that their own fans were merely taking advantage of a new online membership scheme that gave them discounted ticket prices have been thrown out by the SPL - and they have been forced to disband the operation.

Now the Rangers Supporters' Assembly is set to pile on the pressure by demanding that the extra £20,000 Dunfermline collected from the 5000 travelling support that day be handed back.

And they are threatening a massive boycott of East End Park when the teams next meet on January 21 if their demands aren't met.

The Assembly is already at loggerheads with the Fife club over claims that there should be restricted view tickets in the main stand.

That row will escalate if the fans don't getbackthe£20,000 they claim they are owed - and will donate to the Rangers Charity Foundation.

Assembly chairman Jim Templeton said: "The SPL have said that Dunfermline had been found to be in breach of the SPL rules and had been censured accordingly.

"Dunfermline have approximately £20,000 of our money that they have gained by unlawful means. So they gain £20,000 from Rangers fans after breaching the rules and are fined £10,000 for it. So they are £10,000 to the good.

"Now the SPL is also £10,000 up after fining them. Both organisations are benefiting and Rangers fans have lost £20,000.

"We want our money back but whatever we do get back we will donate to charity. They can donate the cheque to the Rangers Charity Foundation.

"If it doesn't happen, we will seek legal advice on whether we can process a claim against either Dunfermline, the SPL or both.

"If we let it rest, they will just laugh at us. We have to use it as a warning to other clubs as well.

"We go back to Dunfermline in January and we will most definitely consider taking a decreased allocation."

Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston confirmed his club had been censured and fined but insisted only 100 Rangers fans had paid £4 more than their Pars counterparts.

He said: "This matter was dealt with two months ago and I don't understand why it has been broughtup now.

"As far as we are concerned the matter is now finished."

Now the row over the restricted view seating in the main stand is set to resurface.

Templeton said: "After the last league match at East End Park I had a complaint from one of our members who had two tickets for the main stand. One of the uprights was blocking his view of one of the goals.

"I wrote to Dunfermline with the seat details and I sent them a copy of Glasgow City Council's regulations on football stadia, which states that if aspect at or does not have an uninterrupted view of the goal and the area in front of the goal, it should be classed as a 'no seat'.

"If you do not have an uninterrupted view of the 18-yard boxit should be classed as a restricted view seat. Then it should be priced accordingly.

"Dunfermline responded but more or less disregarded our comments.

"We get 700-odd seats in the main stand for Dunfermline and the chances are that we will send every one of them back unless they cough up for the restricted viewing seats."

Given you already said you don't know what the running costs actually are, I find it curious that you make a distinction. In the world of football, surely creditors (IE every club we play against) form part of our running costs.

You asked

what are all the running costs?

I don't know what ALL the running costs are, but I could certainly detail what a lot of them are, but don't see the relevence.

I guess that you still don't see the difference between a running cost and a creditor.

The bottom line is that we were told that the donations would not be used to pay creditors but they have done. This has already put some contributors off and some have stated on another forum that they will not make further contributions because of that. However you will not see at least one of the threads due to censorship, which is also quite disturbing for obvious reasons.

Guest Dutchy

I wrote a post into this thread last night, but the site crashed, so it didn't come on. In that thread I was saying that I think it's great we're paying Dunfremline and denying money to Dun Utd.

Fantastic decision and if that makes me petty, then na na nana na. lol

You have to ask if everyone that donated to the fund would want someone else deciding where and what the money raised should be spent, whe we were told it was for Rangers players and staff.

Fuck Dunfermline & DUTD,I'm more concerned with Rangers FC
