Breaking news, Chicago-based consortium launches bid

Recommended Posts

Their failed bids for those 2 clubs means nothing. What do you know about them other than those failed bids ? And do you know why they failed ?

It amuses me when we make rash statements about entities interested in us with very, very little knowledge of them.

I've asked American mates that i work with about them. Two had no idea and a fella i talk sports all the time said not to go near. I trust him as he's a sports nut. Ask Any Sheff Weds fan too, they ended up taking the piss outta them for the shambolic way they did things

“Our view is English football clubs can actually gain from owners who are driven by the profit motive”. Jon Pritchett, Club 9 Sports.

A wee quote from them. Not sure when it was made.

Strange then that they have worked with the NBA, NHL, NCAA, LPGA plus franchises such as the Boston Bruins and Denver Nuggets.

What worries me is they could see liquidation as an option???

Yes, they could. Just a brief browse around their website shows they are not averse to that course of action. And that could be one of the major drawbacks of any potential bidder who doesnt have a "Rangers connection" - to them, 140 years of tradition and history means nothing. And they wouldnt give two hoots whether we like it or not.

But we dont know if that is what their intent would be. D&P have consistently said they want to protect the club and want it to remain in existence. We have to trust that they will be vetting bidders appropriately to that extent - although we have already seen from Craig Whyte that you still arent guaranteed to ensure that the clusb best interests are adhered to, even in a legal document regarding what should happen post-takeover....
