Taken from RM - the players who stopped the deal

Recommended Posts

He is not making it up and several on here can vouch for him. However, whether what he has been told is correct is obviously the question and there's no guarantee. Games are being played on all sides and it's possible that the info that Boss was given was incorrect for a reason.

Just watched S Naismith being interviewed this morning on SSN.

'There are a lot of Rangers Supporters in the squad, we only want to do what is best for the Club'.

Doesn't sound like someone who would do this.

Then two of our highest paid players, both out injured just now, told the Administrators that their wage cut should only be 50% as they couldnâ??t earn win bonuses. This despite picking up their full wages to date while on the sick and not being able to kick a ball in achieving those wins. The Administrators were angered that they were backtracking on the agreement and were ready to make them redundant and implement the agreement among the other players.

Maybe someone used Boss' account on RM and wrote some scaremongering story?

The internet, Twitter esp has played it's part in this whole situation. It'd be niave to think the players don't read these sites, or get told about what's being said, they be as glued to info as much as we are despite what they'd say publicly. So we as fans have helped i personally feel

As happened last year during the months preceding the sale of the club there are obviously leaks from inside (and around) the club from people with differing opinions concerning the situation.

I find such rumours interesting (and have posted a few myself) but have always said to anyone reading them that firstly they may not be true and secondly stuff is usually leaked purposely to spin the situation a certain way.

I don't know if Boss' story is true but in many ways it may have served its purpose given the inferred players have now signed up to wage cuts. Similarly, those that were suggesting elsewhere that the opposite was true and the administrators were playing silly buggers, have now got them to open up in public.

All in all, the real truth lies somewhere in the middle so those of us without an axe to grind should almost always adopt such a position when the spin comes out. Patience is a virtue!

That's what i was trying to say in the post above you mate. We've played our part in one way or another.

I now believe the administrators have used us, in a very cunning. clever and wonderful way to help in this whole sorry mess.

if we get through this i'd love buy them a pint

Given that it seems Naismith and Whittaker agreed their deals after it was posted, perhaps there was some truth to it?

I am positive it was Boss that posted it.

It's obviously up to everyone to assess the accuracy of the post. My take on it is that the news was one-sided and I'm sure that the players would have a different view on it, which would result in the administrators being criticised. There was obviously some negotiations being carried out by some players as they are quite entitled to do and as long as the end result is achieved then I'm not bothered about some reasonable quid pro quo.

All the players who agree to the cuts are helping their club, helping the fans and helping a lot of the other employees, and there can be nothing but praise for them for doing so.

I do think if Naismith says he only wants to do what is best for the Club, then last nights' post was if true was saying the opposite.

Some fans could take this as seeing Naismith as not as genuine as most of us thought.

Not nice for the young man, no matter what the post might have done.
