Where does all this leave Ally?

Recommended Posts

Considering the carnage Whyte has caused that we can now see, surely it would be fair to assume that things have not all been rosey in the Rangers garden behind the scenes for a good while? We don't know exactly what restrictions/pressures may have been on Ally this season, before Admin.

Now is not the time to judge him at all.

Given our circumstances this season, I wouldn't really expect any manager to have done a better job than Ally.

Even Walters tactics and team selections were and would have continued to be similarly baffling at times.

We'll never know what might have been in terms of the outcome of this years title race were it not for our troubles off the field.

What I do still believe though is that Ally IS a good manager and will no doubt become better through all of this.

Not been funny mate but what do you have to back this up?

He has done nothing to suggest he is even a average manager never mind a good one.

I'm very interested to hear what makes you think Ally is a good manager?

Were you saying this when we were top of the league and hadn't conceded a single goal away from home?

Yes, Ally has made some errors as a manager, no one is denying that.

But to castigate a rookie manager under the circumstances he's had to contend with this whole season is grossly unfair.

I had my reservations about Ally before CW moved in.

I don't think he has been allowed to play with a straight deck.

However - what he has done through this administration process has IMO been immense. This has taken big balls, and he has done this admirably.

I'm all for supporting him taking us forward.

I'm sure if he knows his input is not in the best interests of the Club he'll step aside.

But as things stand - he's a legend.

Going forward, we need to drop this "Only blue blood - once were heroes" approach to backroom staff. We should be savvy and look outwards to what is working in the rest of Europe.

Just my opinion.

The only problem with this talk mate is we need to deal with the hear and now, he has failed big time. We only had a lead due to celtic having a very bad start, once they got going Ally and the team feel apart, and this was way before the admin.

As i have asked, will anybody in favour of Ally and saying he is a good boss please tell us why your think that? Anything??

You do understand you have contradicted yourself in that post?

, once they got going Ally and the team feel apart, and this was way before the admin.

It was at the same time that Ally got told that Jelavic would be sold and he would have no money to spend.

Ally probably does deserve criticism on the footballing side, but there's a lot more to our club than that and he has led us through troubling times and I'm certainly prepared to cut him some slack.

So he should have managed the team, he did not he allowed the team to fall apart imo. He has never shown anything to suggest he is a football manager.

My only view on this is people are now wanting to forget everything that happened before admin, the only thing that will lead to is more disaster on the park next season.

I posted earlier in this thread and said I wouldn't be sucked in again.

I've been sucked....Cumbernauld everything you say is correct, Ally did lose out in cup competitions to sides we should be sweeping aside and 'lost' a 15 point advantage but give the guy a bit of slack, the people you are playing on here want to give him another chance, respect that view, you've made your point perfectly and I do agree with you but I'm leaning to go with Ally for at least another season mate.

Probably because as a player he is a legend, lets wait and see.
