Massive wage cuts proposed.

Recommended Posts

SSN presenter Hayley McQueen tweeted this:

"The Rangers players have agreed 2 take paycuts 2 avoid redundancies at the club Highest earners 75% cut, mid 50% & lowest 25% details on SSN

We'll keep you up to date on Rangers after players proposed paycuts backed by Scottish PFA, it's still however 2 b agreed by administrators"

Basically if it fits in with the financial structure the admin are looking for, then we will be keeping our entire squad.

Really hope this is true because it means we can keep our valuable players and sell in the summer if need be. Losing players with a transfer market value for nothing would be very very uncool.

I'm surprised and humbled that Rangers players have taken this attitude, I've always regarded footballers in general to be money grabbing selfish types.

I would suspect that most of our players agents have been approached in cafe's and hotels all over the country in regards to lucrative contracts at other clubs if they accept redundancy.

That's a tough one, I'm not sure many people in any walk of life would take a 25% cut in their wages - never mind 75%!!!

You're not following - the players themselves have suggested. They've not been asked to accept it.

And call me a cynical shite if you will, and as great a gesture as it is to keep the club afloat, these guys are millionaires in the most part - going from £30,000 a week to £7k might be a massive drop, but it's still a terrific wage in this day and age!
