Today's the day

He means replacing. To make Rangers a force, he estimates he would need to spend that to create a backbone of players + some new stars. If we can keep Papac, Alexander, Little (sorry Kirk, not a huge fan) then we can invest in quality additions to the team. Personally I LOVE Papac. I think Alexander has done little to nothing wrong as our reserve, and I'm liking little at the moment.

I understand that Mazza but you would get much better players on Bosmans than some of those I mentioned for a LOT less than £20 million , plus we need to reduce the squad size wage bill anyway moving forward , Paul Murray only ever talks about spending money , even before his entire plan was to borrow a further £25 million

Raman has just tweeted the administrators have told SPL clubs at Hampden they don't believe we'll go down liquidation route. OK, so not new News as such, but every reiteration of that by the administrators is good in my eyes.

They're sending out all sorts of mixed signals because they can't rule anything out at the moment. For example, in the past day or two they've said they are investigating the newco options. I can't remember the exact wording they used, but they definitely said it.

Put it this way, even if they still see liquidation as an option, they're not going to start a panic by saying so at this early stage. They at least need to appear to be trying to save the club while they're being paid to do so.

Have you seen this?

from this article: http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/299801-spl-clubs-discuss-radical-reform-to-administration-sanctions/

One idea mooted would see a club in administration’s points from the previous three seasons averaged, then divided by a third to determine how severe a penalty should be imposed.

Team A, for example, which finished high up the SPL table for three seasons and averaged 60 points each year would lose 20 points from their tally.

Team B, who have been a bottom six club for the previous three seasons, which averaged 30 points, would be deducted ten.

Seems they want to hammer Rangers while protecting themselves in case they go into admin. I'll bet they want this brought in next season...

I'm pretty confident Rangers won't be the last SPL club to go into admin and Hearts are bound to be there at some point. Once Rangers are out of admin I think we'll be financial stable for a long time to come. You just have to look at Celtic to see where coming close to the brink can really turn your fortunes around.

Celtic aren't in good financial shape at all Cal. That's a myth they peddle that shouldn't be bought into.

So what is their real financial situation?

From their accounts it seems they made a small profit while reducing their debt from 9M to 7M - all despite having a much larger playing squad than us...
