biggordy 0
What would happen to the players wages, which appear like being cut, if a new owner comes in with new money ? Could they return to what they were/are ?
der Berliner 4,144
I would assume (!) that the players have contracts and anything being done under administration is a temporary thing, not a "signing" of new contracts.
Stefanovitch 0
Contracts would have to be honoured or renegotiated. However, costs appear to be too high regardless of owner so if wages are deferred they will be paid at some point and after administration costs would rise again.
ian1964 10,870
The players should just play for nothing until the end of the season
craig 5,199
The players should just play for nothing until the end of the season  That is all well and good Ian, but not every player gets a "Steve Davis" salary. Some of these lads wont be on ludicrous wages - I presume Aluko isnt on much and he had to PAY to get to us in the 1st place. Some of these players WILL be in the position, financially, to be able to do that (if Lafferty can drive a Bentley I am sure he could forego some wages - just an example, not specific to Lafferty) but there will be others who are not even close to being financially secure.

der Berliner 4,144
I think folk like Whittaker can easily accept a 75% wage cut, while Aluko and Kerkar surely don't. They all could e.g. agree on a 2k a week salary from now till the end of the season though. We have to keep in mind that quite a few of the high earners were high earners before they came to us, so they should be able to sustain themselves for 6 months or till we are out of admin.
Ergatrude 0
I think that a simple answer would be something like what I believe is in place at Blackpool. I think they have squad status's (Key player, first team, fringe, back-up, youth etc). All of these status's have specific wages, for instance every Key player is on a maximum of 10k/pw, every first team player on 7k/pw, every fringe on 4k/pw etc..
