Neil Lennon 'murder' trial

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing the hysterical public outcry wouldn't have been so intense if it was reported that some putty, a few nails and Casio watch was sent to Neil Lennon. It was noticeable how quickly and frequently that phrase "viable device" was used. The mind boggles.
They can always claim they were trying to help him build a team on time to stop the Gers,

they're charged with attempted murder and what they have done may well be stupid as they appear to be trying to scare the people they sent the parcels to. If they had been charged with threatening behaviour, then they will be found guilty. I'm no expert in the law, but you can't possibley be found guilty for murder because you frighten somebody.

Well, I'd expect any decent lawyer to argue that case, regardless of how scared the victims were.

I didn't start my post with a capital, so that's it. I'm of the feeling that the charge is all wrong for them, especially given some of the evidence coming out just now. It's a bit like that Jambo guy that GOT OFF, as they whiners complain. He didn't get off, there was just no evidence for him to be found guilty of sectarian abuse. Was he not fined for common assult.

He's definately been barred from Tynie, which may not seem like much of a punishment, but I've been there far too many times, so he's getting it good.

Is this correct? How can someone be charged with attempt murder when no attempt was made (no detonator on the "bombs") on someones life? For example, Mr A stabs Mr B but Mr B pulls through therefore Mr A is charged with attempt murder. It's not as if the bomb exploded as Lennon opened the parcel and pulling through a few days later.

It was just scare tactics by the accused.

If it was Sean fae Coatbrig who received these bombs in the post then I doubt a charge of attempt murder would've been libelled against any suspect.

I suppose that's what the case is all about?

We'll soon find out what the verdict is after all the arguements, and more importantly, how the judge might want to interpret the law. Thus, in what way he may direct the jury.

Is it a jury case?? If not, it should be, but that's the law for you!
