Ergatrude 0
A mhank hit out with this rumour in work today, it gave me a chuckle; Something went wrong with Whittaker, MavGregor & Davis contracts & they are now illegal. We will be deducted 3 points for every game that any of these 3 have played in this season. Ridiculous.
pete 2,511
That has been doing the rounds for a while now It was claimed their contracts were not to rangers fC but to the Rangers group which would be illegal as far as I have been informed. I discussed this with some forum members about a week ago and I am sure if the administrators had found anything illegal then they would have made sure that McGregor\Davis wouldn't play.

Don't player contracts need to be rubber stamped by the SFA?
pete 2,511
Don't player contracts need to be rubber stamped by the SFA? I severely doubt it they only have to be registered with the SFA, they have nothing to do with the contents of a contract in my view.

They wont have to know the salaries but surely they would check the legalities? Just remembered the EBT'S, so they clearly don't check them. Perhaps they should?

I doubt if they can ever look into a personal contract but they may be able to bring in laws that the company involved has to be named.

Or maybe a generic contract of employment that you just fill in the blanks for name, salary, length, clauses etc.
Bluedell 6,070
The players' agents would know the rules and would have checked the contracts.
stewarty 2,123
Im sure I've heard Fraser Wishart talking about player contracts and that the majority of it is standard terms for all SPL players.
GovanAllan 0
It's all part of the strip titles from Rangers pish, they even have McGayday having his two pence worth about how he was cheated out of 3 titles. They have to keep it at the top of the agenda, what i would say thou is even although I know it's pish they aren't going to let this go and you know what happens when they get their teeth into something they chew and chew until the powers that be give in and give them what they want.
