pete 2,511
All those who are out of contract at the end of the season will go so that will be Papac, Bartley, Little, Aluko and a few others as well as those on a high wage and no sell-on value like McCulloch and Alexander. Personally I think they may let Aluko stay but as with everyone it is guesswork.
pete 2,511
At the end of the season we will hopefully be out of administration, under new owners and looking to win the league. While I can see us letting Papac, Bartely and McCulloch go, Aluko and Little may be good enough value and quality to keep. I could also see us cashing on MacGregor while keeping Alexander as first choice. If we can sort out our money problems once and for all using administration and new investors and at the same time restructure the club to close up any unnecessary leaking of funds, then I would be confused if we weren't in a position to directly compete with Celtic financially, and therefore on the pitch - which in the main should be our goal these days. Whether Celtic like it or not, we are both tied together for the generation of income and the only way that could change would be to escape the confines of Scottish football either to the English leagues, Atlantic league or European league. I can't imagine we would let McGregor walk away when he may bring in a 5million transfer kitty. That would shock me to be honest.
Danny 0
My hypothetical view is that the administrators would look at the entire weekly wage - say it's £350k (guess). Then they'd say to Ally that the maximum the club can afford is...maybe £70k a week. Then it would be up to Ally to bargain with top earners to get them to take massive cuts, or accept that they have to be cut loose. He could maybe keep one or two of his best players, who might go down in wage, but overall it would be about trying to get the squad down to a very small weekly wage - and it would be left to Ally to decide who stays, who goes, and get as good a squad as he can left within that budget. Dunno, just thinking out loud really.

I meant sell McGregor in the next Transfer window...
