Cull continues - Ali Russell And Gordon Smith Leave

Not if Whyte wrongfully suspended them from the club forcing their eventual resignations!

If they wanted what was best for the club, like they said they did, then they would have just taken it on the chin instead of freezing funds/assets during our worst financial period in our history.

I'm not disagreeing with you about how shitty they were treated, I just disagree with how they dealt with the aftermath.

They could have sued CW for defamation of character or slander since he said publicly that they were basically dodgy.

Then they should have sued CW, not the club.

They would be sueing him for defamation; they would be sueing the Club for constructive dismissal.

I would suspect that the Administrators will settle with Bain pretty quickly now (although they might prefer him as an unsecured creditor). He has £400k of the £1.3M for Boughera frozen as well.

I thought the same as you when they first took legal action, but now I think very differently. These guys were removed by Whyte because they didn't trust him or want him taking over the club. He then as the new owner sullied their characters as professionals without providing any evidence and for what it's worth... right now is the worst financial period in our history nine to ten months after Martin Bain & co said Whyte shouldn't be taking over the club.

I thought we got £1.7m for Bougherra?

This is exactly why I believe they should have sued him & not the club.

When Whyte took actions against them he did it on behalf of the club though mate, it was the club suspending them. It's sad that we've had Whyte representing Rangers, but we can't deny it.

I don't think we'll agree here Zappa mate.

I can see where you are coming from and in any other circumstances I'd be on your page, 100%.

I'm cool with agreeing to disagree mate because none of us are here to persuade anyone of anything, just to talk about Rangers and related issues.

To carry on the conversation in a general sense... If we focus purely on Martin Bain, do you think he took legal action just for money? I'm trying to put myself in his shoes and I honestly don't think he would have done it for money even although it perhaps looked that way initially. To me it seems just as (if not more) likely that Bain took action as a first step towards exposing Craig Whyte for what he is.
