Manchester City outcast Vladimir Weiss could stay at Espanyol on loan for another season rather than leave for good this summer.

Weiss has struggled to establish himself at City and was been sent out on loan to Bolton and Rangers before this season's spell in La Liga with Espanyol.

As reported by talkSPORT earlier this month, Bologna and Cagliari have both approached City about striking a permanent deal for Weiss this summer.

But, after his impressive form in Spain, Roberto Mancini may be more inclined to keep Weiss on the books by allowing him to stay on loan at Espanyol for another year.

The 22-year-old winger has scored two goals in 16 appearances this season as Espanyol have mounted an unlikely challenge for a European spot in La Liga.

And manager Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to persuade City to let Weiss stay in his team beyond this campaign
