if the worst comes

and Rangers go into liquidation and have to start from scratch the likelyhood is that certain parties will attempt to insist we start at the bottom of the football tree and work our way back up. In the event of that happening what do we reckon to the proposal that we apply to join the English leagues instead of the Scottish ones?

Given the level of outright hatred expressed against our club over the last few weeks I for one would be very glad to simply get the f*ck out of here and play in an environment where we might not be subject to the mhedia driven bile and bigotry we've seen over the last few days. That option might not be open to us but I'd be for asking to see if it could be.

It's an absolutely horrific thought that we would ever have to start from nothing, but if we were forced into liquidation and the SPL tried to make our newly formed club bend over and take it up the rear end, then I definitely think we should apply to play down south.

There's a lot to be said for the romantic idea of helping out some of the old Scottish clubs who've never had any luck and play in the 2nd & 3rd divisions, but ultimately it might make more sense to try and get into a league south of the border.

The only thing that concerns me about moving south is that right now there's 7 clubs in the Championship who's income is less than their player wages. It's a symptom of the competitiveness of the Championship and clubs overspending to try and reach the EPL. Many clubs down their are in serious financial trouble due to this and it really takes a lot of the attraction away for me because we would be starting in a state of poor health and without a sugar daddy owner willing to throw away his money I think it would be a LOT tougher for us as a club than most fans appreciate.

If and it's a big IF Rangers went into liquidation then Gingergers idea would be something to consider. As Zappa says it would be horrific that we had to start from nothing, but sometimes it just pisses me off with the shite we have to put up with in this country.

Personally it wouldn't bother me if we had to start from 'bottom' in England, with the fan base we have we'd be sailing through the leagues and even when we reached the Championship that wouldn't be a problem either as Rangers are miles ahead of any club in there, I'm talking about one of the best supported teams in the world.

The 'new' club would retain the name Rangers whether it has Glasgow in front of it - or 2012 after it. We would also retain the kit colours and wear the five stars in recognition of the great club who achieved those stars.

I'm sure the fans would back this club and over the years whilst playing in England the club would be affectively known as Rangers the Scottish club who were founded in 1872 and won 50 titles before anyone else.

The following generations of 'Gers fans wouldn't have to put up with the shite we have to from that paranoid lot with a porkheid persuasion. With Rangers no longer playing in Scotland, the SPL would become boring with timmy running away with title after title and no tv money and fans would desert in their droves.

The Bheasts would apply for membership in England and get knockback after knockback, they would then have to down grade and everything would become a level playing field with clubs like Kilmarnock, Dundee United, Hearts & Inverness all having a chance. In the meantime Rangers will be challenging Man U, Man C & Arsenal for the Premiership title.

If that ever happens then I'm certain future generations of Rangers fans would enjoy it.
