Strathclyde Police Investigation

Has he bent the letter of the law to breaking point most definitely and I'm sure he has done it many times before and will in the future. But to claim he started from day 1 on a plan to shaft Rangers criminally and run off into the sunset is just stupid you need to take the Whyte hating glasses off.

I agree with that. My biggest concern is the smear on Rangers. And sometimes playing so close to the line of the law goes against you, so whilst the intention to ruin Rangers won't have been there (I can't believe it if he is genuinely a life long Rangers man) that is what he could have ended up doing.

There are enormous risks to the strategy, if that's what to call it.

I think however unsavoury Whyte is, and I have called him everything from a crook to a charlatan, it has needed this to get us on a sure footing.

My old Papa used to say "If you want a bastard of a job done you get a bastard of a man to do it". Well Whyte is a bastard and the job needed doing.

Huge risks BM and you need Baws of Steel and a certain mentality to do it, which 99% of us don't have. I've never been bankrupt in my life and wouldn't even put myself anywhere near that position but guys like Whyte do it at the drop of a hat and risk everything. The problem arises when they fail they might just shrug their shoulders and move on to the next deal but it's the carnage they leave in their wake that is hard to stomach.

And thanks for yesterday's running reports my business was running like clockwork right up until the press con started then it went into meltdown so couldn't watch.

The fact remains that if Whyte borrowed money against future season ticket sales to assist the takeover of the Club, and this was done prior to his actually taking over, then this, as far as I understand, is fraud.

The fact that he has denied this to various fan groups, let alone obscuring how much was actually at stake, doesn't fill me with confidence.

Despite our differences of opinion on Whyte, I sense that he has gone beyond the pale as regards a great many of the support, and that for those supporters, he is no longer welcome at the Club. I may be wrong, but don't think so.

I really think that Whyte has too much unsavoury baggage to continue.

If he ends up being charged, I would assume that this discussion is irrelevant.

I agree with this statement I think Sir David Murray also thought the same thing.

Here is the crux of the matter...borrowing money to buy a business isn't fraud, it becomes fraud if you borrow from or secure borrowing on the business you are buying. All he has to do is prove that the Ticketus money went into one account (and wasn't secured on Rangers) and the takeover money £18m to Lloyds) came from another. The biggest risk to Craig Whyte's liberty is the Stockbroker deal that as far as I can see has no relevance to Rangers.

I find it incredible that sensible people on here actually think Whyte has defrauded Rangers intentionally. The guys obviously not stupid it's not like shafting some auld dear out of her savings on a new drive and never showing up, there is no chance he would get away it.

I firmly believe and have consistently maintained from the outset when it was not exactly fashionable to think that Craig Whyte bought Rangers with the sole intention of screwing everything he possibly could out of it.

No matter how hard I researched Craig Whyte (and I expended a considerable amount of time doing so and still do) I could find absolutely no proof whatsoever of him being a successful "Venture Capitalist" or "Turnaround Specialist", all the evidence pointed and points to his modus operandi being to gain control of distressed businesses and liquidating them for personal gain with absolutely no regard for the consequences others suffered because of his actions.

Read the shareholder circular, you'll find a bigger fairy story than anything that ever came from the pen of Hans Christian Andersen.

Scary thing is if the FTT had concluded when scheduled to last year he may never have been found out.

While there is no doubt Whyte is a very sharp operator it appears he now may have inadvertently nicked one of his own arteries. RFC is far from the only problem facing Whyte at the moment, Pritchards is going to be a very interesting story when the full truth of what has been going on emerges as will the Merchant House (of Cards ?).

Take a look at his recent utterances re Ticketus (any other issues) where his lies were exposed in front of the nation by the very administrators he fought to get the court to appoint.

To borrow the words of Sheriff Ross, Craig Whyte is "wholly unsuitable".

Do you think that it was an accident that the club never received the £24m Ticketus money?

BD I agree with most of what you and Forlan say and Whyte sails way to close to the edge for my liking. The fact remains thou why would he embark on a criminal scheme that he has no way of getting away with.

Now I've known some smart crooks and some stupid crooks in my time, but even the stupid ones wouldn't touch a job they dont have at least a 50/50 chance of getting away with. Whyte has no chance of getting away with defrauding Rangers and if he has defrauded anyone it's ticketus the money never touched Rangers as far as I could make out from yesterday's press con.

That has been something that's always puzzled me the only rational explanation I can think off is that the FTT should have concluded virtually the day he bought us and delivered a verdict circa the end of June and perhaps he thought he could've hidden everything through that, I doubt anybody would've questioned the fact if he'd placed us administration if the big tax case had went against us, it's crystal clear he wanted to spend as little as possible before we entered administration hence his behaviour re wee tax case, transfer policy etc...etc.

Either that or he's criminally insane or mentally deluded.
