Rangers manager Ally McCoist has been handed a much-needed injury boost after Kirk Broadfoot and Kane Hemmings both returned to full training.

Defender Broadfoot has been out of action since December, while young striker Hemmings has been sidelined for the last two months with his latest injury set-back.

However, the pair could be in contention for this weekend's Scottish Premier League game at Dunfermline and set to bolster McCoist's sparse resources.

Ibrox coach Ian Durrant told the club's official website: "Kane and Kirk are back with us now so that's two more bodies we've got to add to the squad which can only be a good thing.

"They have been working hard and are clearly desperate to get back playing. That's good to see especially as we have a big month ahead now.

"We have three really important SPL coming up in February and our target is to take nine points. That's the challenge for us and the more players the manager has available to him the better.''

I knew we'd rush Hemmings back quickly and said so last night. I think he only just started running again last week and now he's back in full training this week, set to maybe play at the weekend. You'd think a lad who's had four knee operations in a year might be eased back into things slowly to make sure he's fully recovered and doesn't do more damage to his knee by coming back too quickly.

Can't imagine Broadfoot could be worse than Bartley... Hemmings should now get his chance (although most probably as a sub); however, you have to wonder if his lack of fitness as well as experience could have the crowd on his back pretty quickly...

Let's hope he hits the ground running.

I remember when he was named in the Scotland squad, there was talk of him not being good enough for a Scotland jersey, then the damn pest went and scored a goal. Doesn't he know thats not meant happen in a Scotland jersey.
