GovanAllan 0
That's my only criticism of him right now, he tends to have a few slack passes in a game. Against Hibs he did it a few times and a couple of times he gave possession away in our half. In saying that he's getting really good at breaking up the oppositions attack and then starting a quick counter attack. He's also getting into the opposition box more and likes a crack at goal.Funny how not long ago almost everyone was wanting rid of him (myself included), now he's gettin plaudits for being one of our best midfielders so far this season. Shower of two faced bassa's we are.
Frankie 8,869
Guy is on the top of his form right now. Shown by that extra half-yard of pace and confidence which he doesn't have when not playing so well. Exactly the kind of box-to-box midfielder every team needs. The lad has always shown glimpses of this but he just needs to deliver such quality more often.
Gazza_8 233
The tag of 'our best midfielder' isn't much of an achievement really. Every single midfielder of ours has been awful this season and struggled to make any sort of impact during games. If Edu is out best midfielder then Celik comes a close 2nd, no?
aftershock 1
Celik always come second :spl:
Frankie 8,869
But every single midfielder of ours hasn't been awful this season. Naismith was very important before his injury, Aluko has been pretty good since signing and Davis was also solid enough before we lost Naismith. To that end, I don't think Edu has been our best midfielder this season but he's done pretty well and is showing the kind of consistent quality required of him.

Davis, Edu and McCulloch have all been awful for the majority of the season. The last few games have seen Edu's performances improve no end and Davis had a good game against Hibs but apart from that, nothing much to report. I wonder how long it'll take before the fans turn on Edu again?

Frankie 8,869
Davis' form was acceptable enough up until mid November and he's been a bit better this year so I'd contend he's been better than awful for the majority of the season. Similarly, Edu has done well enough for more than the last three games. Some fans are definitely fickle and overly critical/negative. No doubt about that.
ian1964 10,858
It's only natural for fans to give players a hard time if they are underperforming, although I'm not too much into that as I see it as counter productive, but then again these players are highly paid professionals and should be able to handle constructive criticism, but constructive criticism is usualy in short supply when it comes to Rangers fans. Edu had a couple of excellent strikes form distance in the first half that the BBC highlights never showed for some reason? Granted I don't see every game but I try to catch them on the internet if I'm not working or away out shopping with the wife on a Saturday but the games I've seen, Edu and Davis haven't shown any authority in the midfield, shown no fight or determination or played with any pride. Maybe I'm wrong with the "last few games" comment regarding Edu, I'll increase that to 5. I saw the Arbroath game and thought Edu was poor. As for Davis, everyone on here has commented that Davis deserves to lose his place in the starting XI and the only reason he hasn't is because his replacement would be McCulloch.
