Super_Ally 0
I'm normally one of the more positive posters on here but I dont think either of them are any better than Burke who also blew hot and cold. Dont expect much agreement there but Burke was another who wasnt as bad as made out and has also more than held his own in the Championship which mnay would argue is better than the SPL. They're decent enough and they excite the fans because of their style of play but I would like to see more end product, better decision making and less ball hogging at times.
Guest Dutchy
Aluko contributes more to the team than Weiss did, although we'd have to wait to see if that continues until he reaches the same games played mark as Weiss. But he certainly deserves an extended contract, there's nothing to stop an offer, whereas, Man City were blocking Weiss.

Burke was consistently rotten. He'd play a good game in about 8 then get injured and then the cycle would repeat itself. The thing with Weiss is he whored himself to the Rangers supporters and is now a hero because of it. His heroic status has nothing to do with what he did on the park.
Ergatrude 0
I think the difference between Aluko & Weiss is maturity. Weiss just wanted to play & excite the fans, Aluko seems capable of reading the game & isn't greedy on the wing, if he sees an opportunity then he will pass the ball, Weiss was sometimes guilty of being like McGeady.. skin 3 or 4 players on the wing & then rather than cross it into the box he'd turn back and try to skin them again.
craig 5,199
S_A, Burke wasn't as good as either Aluko OR Weiss. He was as inconsistent as Weiss but Weiss was faster, trickier and generally a far better player. I would opt for Aluko every day of the week (my 7yr old will hate me saying that as Weiss is his idol). In his few games with us he has consistently been either our best, or one of our better, players - a feat that Weiss never achieved. Aluko's decision-making, whilst not perfect, is certainly better than Weiss's. He is also more influential in how we play. Yesterday he created our first goal with a decent, though somewhat fortuitous, through ball to Davis, he scored a corker of a free kick and he was generally a thorn in Hibs side all day long. That run later in the game where he had a horrible finish was absolutely sublime (other than the finish obviously). One thing I noticed yesterday too was that he was more of a team player than previously - a coupld of times he was down in the far corner helping out Bartley with defensive duties. I like Weiss as a player but I get the impression that he is more of a luxury player. Aluko for me is a player that we should be looking to keep and someone who will, in my opinion, become an integral part of our team.
johnnyk 158
Aluko for me also, he has great control with the ball and loves to take players on and usually beats his man and if he loses the ball works hard to get it back. He will also score more goals than Weiss could. He is the type of player fans want to see, get him signed up on a long term contract pronto ffs
Danny 0
Burke was the only good thing about Eck's 2003/2004 campaign. But after that he was very patchy and while he's done pretty well at Cardiff then Birmingham, that he never forced his way into the Scotland setup kinda incriminates his career somewhat.
craig 5,199
Weiss scored the winner for Espanyol against Mallorca this weekend.....
Bluedell 5,679
Aluko every day. He's shown more since arrving and is more consistent than Weiss. I'd largely agree with this. Aluko is far more consistent. Weiss at his very best could be better but if I was picking one I would go for Aluko due to his far greater consistency.
