Aluko v Weiss

Recommended Posts

Is Sone Aluko proving to be better than Weiss?.

I am a big fan of Weiss and would love to see him back at Ibrox, however Aluko is performing at a high level since he joind the Rangers.

We all knew he was a good wee player but he really has taken his chance with Rangers and I would like to see him signed up on a longer contract.

Wylde was very poor today and thought Celik when he came on showed more.

That's the thing, Wylde has always been poor, some of our players really stepped up today something got into their heads.

Wylde? He's hopeless and doesn't deserve to wear the jersey.

As for Aluko he's maybe the guy who's setting standards right now for the team and they are responding collectively, Davis looked really up for it and Edu was superb. I was one who wanted him out the door, but I'll hold my hands up and say I was wrong about him. I'll settle down on Sunday and watch Falkirk put the shiters right up Lemmon and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Aluko is pulling the whole team along in pretty much all our games. I don't think Weiss can claim to have done that. Although he scored a cracker of a free kick today his lack of an end product in open play does worry me a little. He certainly has vision and invention in his game which we have been missing for a while now. I said over the last few weeks that he should not be stuck out on the wing but given a free role behind the CF and I think today's game proved that. Both would be excellent like reading and writing or black and Weiss.:D

So one good performance from the whole team and suddenly Aluko's turned into Naismith? Don't think so.

He's showing signs of real quality, yes (his free kick was sumptuous), but there's once again a hint of over reaction about his worth. Only one week ago we were held at home by Aberdeen - didn't see anyone pulling the team through (apart from maybe Edu) never mind Aluko. And we only just got the 3 points in the prior match V St Johnstone!

I'm enjoying this emphatic win as much as anyone else but my head is not in the clouds about it or any player yet - we have not yet turned a corner, we're not suddenly fixed and we need to realise this quickly!

EDIT: Just fully read all your post (rather jumped the gun on the first sentence) - you do actually hint at some of Aluko's flaws and that's fair enough. Just can't really agree that he's pulling us along right now.
