I was down at Berwick yesterday for their Trust AGM and took in the big match v top of the table Stranraer.

They don't owe anyone one penny, the Manager says he won't play anyone out of position and they crowd was 438.

It has been £10 to get in for the past 11 seasons.

All the programme sellers, turnstyle operators, and stewards are trained volunteers. Not a policeman in site - English or Scottish!

They have a decent stiker called Darren Gribben who has moved about the lower divisions, who has some classy touches and pretty much scores a goal every other game.

A nice day out.

Albion Rovers are the same. I pop into Cliftonhill for a chat sometimes when I'm at work and speak with the chairman/secretary/ground keeper regularly. They don't owe a penny, made a tidy wee profit of £20k(ish) last season (promotion from Div 3 to Div 2) and are currently holding their own in Div 2.

Cops pop their heads in during most home games (usually just after HT for a free pie) but never stay for the duration unless they're playing Airdrie.

I was speaking to a guy a few weeks ago who used to follow Motherwell but began following Albion instead because he hated how the game was changing in the SPL.

They have a big, powerful striker who gets his fair share of goals. Don't know his name but he goes by the nickname of The Beast. Poor guy!
