Bendikson to leave

Recommended Posts

Sorry guys, I accidentally deleted Gav's Bendikson thread. :seal:

The basics of it were that there's a rumour that Bendikson could leave in January, but the truth of the matter as far as I know is that he's actually signed a new deal with us.

Has he actually put pen to paper ?

Not 100% sure mate, but I think so, yes.

The Willie Vass RSS feeds with photos from training on the 27th contained the following two images with captions:

It's important to note that he's got his initials on his training kit which is something you only get when you become a fully fledged first team player and something Bendikson wouldn't have got unless he had signed a new deal and been promoted to a full first team player. Just 5 days earlier on the 22nd, Bendikson still only had his squad number on his training kit because he was still only officially a reserve player. This photo's from training on the 22nd -

Obviously it's possible that something has happened since the OF game like a fall out or something. I don't know, but the evidence from Vass would certainly suggest that the kid has indeed signed a new deal.

A few years ago this wouldn't have even been worthy of a thread , just shows how far we have fallen , no offence to Zappa for posting it , but just a general observation

Do you mean the fact that we're interested in a young player coming through the ranks into the first team, then hear some rumour that he might be offski?

My guess is that he's signed a new deal but the club haven't announced it officially yet so that they can announce it inside the transfer window, thus making it look as if we've signed a player in the January transfer window.... Naughty wee tactic if true, but very plausible IMO.

No ,just that a young player who has hardly featured and been injury prone and who if the truth be known could walk down Argyle st almost without notice , yet there are threads on various sites all dedicated to whether he's offski or not , its not Messi thats leaving , thats all I'm saying

There's a 13-pager on one of the big Gers sites where almost everyone who's posted on the thread actually believe the rumour. Wishing him well for the future etc. They don't call it silly season for nothing! :D

Anyway, I get your point rbr. You're commenting about how "low" you think the club has stooped because fans are interested in some relatively unknown kid. Maybe you've got a fair point, but the club were always going to start relying on youth a wee bit more when hard times struck and they've struck.

Guest Dutchy

On Friday night's Radio Scotland sportsound, Chick Young revealed that Bendikson was on his way out???

Then I heard that he wasn't, now I read that he's signed.

Can't make my mind up if it's football, or reporting of football that is becoming utter and total shit.

Probably a mixture of both. The media, or the people that listen and read it have been in decline for years, but Rangers current financial problems have sent them into overdrive.

I'm not keen on survey's, but now I'm sure that not only will I never fill one in, I intend to pay as little attention to this crap from of information gathering.
