Billy Davies Joins RTV

Depends who he picks up there, as it will be similar conditions to the other night, always windy in Arbroath.

Yep and if he fails again to install into all the lads minds to keep the ball on the deck when playing from the back or deep midfield in the windy conditions, then he probably shouldn't be a manager anyway. He should be telling them to have a good few cracks at goal from outside the box as well because the wind moving a ball in flight can be a nightmare for goalkeepers. Make the weather conditions work for you, not against you. It's common sense.

Ally's SPL stats for the number of games we've played are better than Walter's were last season at the same point. You already know I'm not happy with some of his line-ups and tactical decisions pete, but we can still win this league.

That is statistics Zappa and they don't always tell the truth. Do you personally see anything in this team that makes you think that we are going forward? I am afraid I don't.

To me it's all about the players the manager has at his disposal pete and Ally has inherited Walter's team of players. It's going to take him more than one summer transfer window plus the coming January window to change this squad into one that he's happy with. He might not even have any money in January (or very little) and we should prepare for that.

He's currently riding along on playing Walter's team plus a few new signings and the odd youngster brought through, but this team needs BIG changes to become a cracking football team IMO and even then with big changes there's no guarantee it would all just click in a hurry.

Also, with the finances the way they are now under Whyte, Ally no doubt doesn't have the ability to just punt and pay-off players who we have on contracts. He does select the team sheet for every game though and I'm not happy with some of his selections and tactical decisions, so we are partially in agreement here that he's not quite been getting it right.

Got to add though pete, I'm very worried about Ally talking about sending out Fleck and Hutton on loan because it signals to me that he's going to try and win this title with Walter's old first picks instead of trying something new. That worries me at this point in time and if I'm perfectly honest I don't think we'll win the title again if Ally doesn't make some serious changes asap.

I can't believe this post!! McCoist got hounded by 'Rangers Fans' in his FIRST season as a player, the rest of his seasons are of legendary status and you couldn't make it up, 'All time top scorer' double golden boot winner, 9-in-a-row, just pieces of the history of our club. Now some guys on here want to sweep him aside after ONE season the same way as 1983.

Get a grip lad's....Give him a fuckin' chance ffs?

I completely agree mate, but he's already being hounded out the door from what I'm reading on other forums. He deserves AT LEAST two full seasons to see what he can do as a Rangers manager IMO. Beating Arbroath is important for Ally though because if we can't do that... well.

Losing to Arbroath? Are you kidding mate? We will beat them 1-0 or 8-0....can you see something that could make 'Berwick' seem like a stroll in the park? I dont?

We are not that bad.....a 0-1 at porkheid is not the end. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ALLY!

I support Ally 100%, but as I said, beating Arbroath is a must. We have Motherwell on Monday and winning that game is a must too tbh.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the wording of this official news feed seems quite strange to me. Could this be a way of introducing a new manager to the fans? :wtf:

You are reading too much into this! They're just describing his achievements.

Saying "he is passionate and forthright" in a news feed advertising that he's appearing on RTV was a bit OTT though....
