Sorry I missed them !

I just like goalscorers I think, I always have. That's why I would always prefer Boyd over Miller. Different altogether I know, but bear with me. Hatley was always the provider for McCoist was he not? Yet when Ally broke his leg, Hately stood up and scored shedloads. Reminds me of Miller slightly although I would not put Miller anywhere near the class of Hatley. Boyd however IMO is similar to McCoist in that they both missed chances (yes, him too) but always, always came back with goals!

It's an argument or discussion that is likely to go round and round in circles I believe.

I think I know what you are getting at but to consider Boyd anything like McCoist is futile. McCoist was far, far better in almost every aspect than Boyd. McCoist did so much more than Boyd.

But yes, likely to go round in circles...

I don't think it's futile as such. I do think McCoist was better, more liked/loved by the fans. Endured a hell of a lot, remember the Judge and the Durie stuff under Souness? He always came back smiling and scoring. His workrate and willingness to dig in was also better although I think Boyd did improve in the later stages of his time with us.

The one thing not futile is they were both natuaral goalscorers. Born to put that ball in the net and love it.

Hard one, had Boyd stayed, would he have broke Ally's record? I think he would, but that's hindsight and what if's.

The circle hereby commences once more :)

I hope your fortune telling is correct

I dont think they are against Celtic either. St "diddy" Johnstone went to Parkhead and won. There is no such thing as an easy game in the for us these days. Celtic find it easier in some games than we do, but likewise they also struggle too.

I was most disappointed with St Johnstone on Sunday obviously the new manager decided on sitting back instead of noising Celtic up as the last manager did. If you sit back against the tims they will grind you down but if you can noise them up and get at their defence then you have a chance. The 2 half's against Killie showed that.

I would agree with that pete. If you get in Celtic's faces they will struggle. Give them time on the ball and they will eventually grind you down. Makes you wonder why teams go out with that attitude, even when at home. They are expected to lose to the OF all the time so why not go out and be aggressive ?

Of course, we don't even need to sell anyone to sign Boyd up for e.g. 6 months. And then imagine a frontline with Wylde, Aluko, and/or Lafferty, with Jela and Boyd to feed from.

Which reminds me that we need a creative midfielder ... unless Ally finally gives McKay a chance.
