Guest Dutchy
But this new panel had the opportunity to come down hard on simulation when samearse caused an ICT player to be red carded =, which was later totally and completely rescinded, with no punishment for talented diver???
metlika 0
You have to question the review panel. O Connor dive was hauled up after Billy Brown (?) said he dived he got a 2 match ban, Hibs appeal and he gets nout, it was blatant. I'm not surprised its happened as they take into account complaints from anybody iirc. It was soft but yeah consistency is the key here and it hasn't been so far.
Gers4Life 0
It's a fuckin joke now and I'm starting to get very angry with the way certain organisations are ganging up on our club and putting the fookin boot in! Are we being made to be the scape goat in certain areas! Stone wall penalty last week for us when aluko was hauled down in the box and the bloody official turn the other way! Let's see the sfa investigate that one please!
Guest Dutchy
These panel members probably spend the weekend with their rugby mates and only read the papers on the Sunday/Monday to find out what to think. Sorry for the cynicism, but I can't help myself.
54andcounting 0
I would be honest and say Sone took a dive and won us a penalty (a clever skill that clever players do) The problem is that Sone's been targeted which means in future opposition defenders can kick the shit out of him and the refs wont react. Welcome to Rangers Sone.
chilledbear 16
Only ones which involve Rangers. Who actually reports these things to the SFA ? It would be interesting to know who actually reported this.
der Berliner 4,138
Unless I am mistaken, the BBC leads the chase with a headline saying: SFA to review Aluko penalty award (NewsNow, Timecode: BBC 13:45 Sun, 04 Dec 2011) In their report they started with: The Scottish FA are likely to review an incident that let to a penalty for Rangers in their 2-1 win over Dunfermline, BBC Scotland has learned. .. which is now the new headline of the article. It wasn't on Sunday. They were the only ones to report on it, after their reporters babbled about this during the game at Tannadice. Today (!!), the Daily Record followed suit: Rangers winger Sone Aluko facing two-game ban over controversial Ibrox penalty in another misleading headline, as it should be "could be facing" -> which they write in the article. IMHO headline grabbing at its finest and we clearly see the aim and the agenda. Not least with the nice follow-up in the Record: RANGERS winger Sone Aluko could cop a two-game ban as the SFA prepare to probe claims he is a penalty box diver. .. which make it reading that he's doing it like Traitor O'Gheady or Petrov. Who, AFAIK, never faced any such scrutiny outside the Rangers boards. (And the replies on the DR' side are comical central again ... not least from the HHs) Edited December 5, 2011 by der Berliner
ian1964 10,861
As the match wasn't shown live in the UK you would have to assume it was the BBC who initiated the investigation?
Gazza_8 233
Does this mean that the SFA are going to investigate every penalty?. Is the panel just asked to review penalty incidents or can FKs be reviewed too?
craig 5,199
Is the panel just asked to review penalty incidents or can FKs be reviewed too? Should be both. Simulation is simulation no matter where committed. This panel is swiftly becoming a farce. Good thing though..... O Connor's subsequent rescinding of his ban for diving (when his own asst boss said he dived) sets precedence..... or maybe not.
