All Transfer Rumours and silly season stuff

GLASGOW Rangers are weighing up a last-minute loan swoop for Fulham frontman Marcello Trotta.

With Nikica Jelavic set to join Everton, the SPL giants are short of options in attack.

And the Chronicle understands Trotta is on their radar as boss Ally McCoist looks to bolster his strikeforce.

The 19-year-old scored eight goals in as many games for League One Wycombe Wanderers before returning to Craven Cottage earlier this month.

The Chairboys were keen to keep the Italian at Adams Park, but Whites boss Martin Jol wanted to assess him before deciding whether to send him back out.

Trotta featured as a late substitute in Friday's FA Cup defeat at Everton, but Jol may still be willing to let him leave SW6 to get regular game time elsewhere if he adds to his attack before tonight's deadline.

Gers, meanwhile, will offer a trial to Cameroon midfielder Matthew Mbuta.

He will arrive in Glasgow today aiming to win a deal with the Ibrox side and is free to sign AFTER the window closes.

The 26-year-old is a free agent after the collapse of his American NASL club Crystal Palace Baltimore.

Mbuta, who has three goals in four games for his country, has previously had trials with Arsenal and West Ham.

STV Grant:

To kill a rumour before it properly surfaces, Fulham striker Marcello Trotta will not be moving to Rangers on loan. A deal isn't possible as he has already played for two clubs this season.

Come on,you can't seriously be blaming the club doctors for his injuries?

Maybe not the doctors themselves....time will tell though. He is ALWAYS injured, or carrying a knock - it'll be interesting if he goes to the end of the season without a problem, playing regularly etc, then returns to Rangers. Andy Webster is a prime example - constantly "injured" with us, then goes to Utd and pretty much played every game in the season, then returns and is "injured" again....then sold!!

Also, why would Ross County take on an injured player???? That then raises the question IF he isn't injured, why isn't he in the squad???

The only thing that was broken with Webster was his bottle absolute wank of a man.
