The game on the 28th December will very intersting if this were to continue.

As to yesterdays sending off, can samerarse not be looked at by the compliance officer for his faking???

I'm not sure how it would work. I think current rules are that someone can be disciplined with video evidence for an offence which the referee didn't see. But the fact that the other player was sent of means the referee seen the offence, just wrongly.

I'd say he took advantage of a leading elbow and exaggerated in order to get the guy sent off. The kid did lead with the elbow, and we have the benefit of multiple replays to show it was contentious, but the ref has a split second to decide - and when you see one player lead with an elbow into another's face, it's incriminating.

Terry Butcher's rant about it was quite something.
