I think current rules are that someone can be disciplined with video evidence for an offence which the referee didn't see. Danny 0 Posted November 20, 2011 Share Posted November 20, 2011 I'd say he took advantage of a leading elbow and exaggerated in order to get the guy sent off. The kid did lead with the elbow, and we have the benefit of multiple replays to show it was contentious, but the ref has a split second to decide - and when you see one player lead with an elbow into another's face, it's incriminating.
