Opportunity Knocks For The Scottish Government And Media To Help UEFA

Recommended Posts

IMHO Glasgow's Finest had enough of the indecision presented by the Scottish government, SPL, SFA and whatnot. While the police could work with the UEFA decision about TBB and FTP, nothing of like "quality" can be said about what echoes round the Timdome. By getting UEFA into it, the police will hope for a definite answer, so they can actually point out which song or context is not allowed at footie grounds any longer - at least with regards to religion, politics and sectarianism.

Your take on it might just be correct dB. I'm sure we'll learn more as this unfolds.

I'd be interested to know whether it was the UEFA official who approached the match commander and asked him how things had gone or if the match commander approached the UEFA official.

The way they spoke on the radio, it was the match commander that spoke to the UEFA official. I believe the police issued a statement saying this and their surprise that it was included. They, the police, also said that they were still on-going invetigations to find the culprits. As there is a special section provided fro them by septic bosses, it shouldn't take long to identify these people. But then again!!!

As Tom English worded it in his Scotsman article about the recent Hibs game - "Now that Peter Lawwell is supposedly taking a hard line on these things he might want to have words. It’s not like he needs a compass to find them".

I try to avoid getting embroiled in the politics of all this, but I completely agree that if we're being hounded by Uefa, Celtic's terrorist glorification bullshit should be equally stamped out if not more so.

Celtic: Scotland's Real Shame

As Celtic find themselves in the dock with UEFA over Sectarian chanting, it should come as no surprise that the very same hypocrites who have spent years attacking Rangers for â??bigotryâ? are now spitting with venom at being on the receiving end of UEFAâ??s attention.

Why they are surprised though should be a surprise to any sane observer.

While Celtic has had a section of support for the IRA since the Troubles, they have bizarrely become more extreme in the last decade.

The venomous bigotry has been there for all to see and hear on live television in recent years, covered up and defended by a host of irresponsible media figures, Celtic FC themselves and influential figures within Scottish Society.

Their defence ranges from support for the Provisional IRA being â??politicalâ?, to stating that â??Boys of The Old Brigadeâ? is about the â??oldâ? IRA that â??were freedom fighters not terroristsâ?.

The audacity of those defending the support of a sectarian murder gang borders on astonishing.

There are enough resources of documentary evidence to prove that the Provos were sectarian, and that the IRA of the â??Old Brigadeâ? era were too.

From a blog called truthonsectarianism.blogspot.com I picked up the following resource of old newspaper reports, articles and book excerpts that detail much of the sectarian nature of both eras of the IRA.

http://truthonsectarianism.blogspot.com/2011/10/kingsmill-sectarian-slaughter.html

The Ethnic Cleansing of the Boys of the Old Brigade

The Provos are Sectarian

http://truthonsectarianism.blogspot.com/2011/05/ira-are-sectarian.html

It also tells us that other sectarian terms used by Celtic fans are now case law, and should be rigorously applied

http://truthonsectarianism.blogspot.com/2011/07/scottish-court-sets-legal-precedent.html

Then we come to the evidence of Celticâ??s sectarian songbook, in a wonderful resource that details when Celtic fans have been partaking of some praise of ethnic cleansing or murder, and what these songs are, with links to video evidence.

I'd like to take credit for the work put in to this site, but it isnâ??t mine, or anything to do with Vanguard. We do however thank those involved behind it for a sterling piece of work.

Itâ??s rather amusing to see the predictable volley of anger from the usual suspects such as Brian McNally of the Mirror, Graham Spiers, and the FAC group.

McNally spluttered on Twitter that he was going to put together a dossier for UEFA, presumably to defend the Celtic support singing in support of Sectarian murder and ethnic cleansing. Nice.

Spiersâ?? article on the UEFA report was littered with his trademark inconsistencies and looked more like an attack on Rangers than the club being reported.

Given that he likes to comment on othersâ?? grammar, Iâ??d like to think Spiers is well read. I have always thought he fancied himself as a literary genius, who chooses each word meticulously.

If that is the case, his apparent â??attackâ? on the Celtic support is very telling.

Hereâ??s a selection of those quotes:

â??Well, now it is Celticâ??s turn to face the music, and not before time, many feel.â?

Donâ??t you think the addition of â??many feelâ? is very telling? Itâ??s a method of absolving himself of making such a statement, like he is reporting othersâ?? views rather than his own.

â??There are times, especially when Neil The Bigotâ??s team take to the road, when the pro-IRA stuff coming from a zealous section of the Celtic support is pretty ear-splitting.

Mysteriously â?? though not exclusively â?? this can reach a fever pitch when Celtic play at Tynecastle, such as at the match between Celtic and Heart of Midlothian in Edinburgh last April.â?

That game wasnâ??t just characterised by the appalling attack on Neil The Bigot by a spectator; the scene was also marred by arguably the worst display of pro-IRA chanting ever heard at an away ground by Celtic fans. It is a scenario â?? such chanting â?? that has recurringly embarrassed the club.

I have to thank Twitter user @be1873 for pointing out that not only has Spiers got the date wrong (The match was on 11 May), he appears to have forgotten that his own match report failed to report any such chants or songs

http://i39.tinypic.com/2zzudxl.jpg

While Spiers states â??that The case itself, while perhaps being a tad complicated, cannot surely have come as a total surprise to Celtic.â?, one thought that springs to mind is that it certainly looked like a surprise to Spiers, or any of his readers, who may well have been unaware of the chants, given his complete ignorance of their existence until AFTER the club found itself in trouble.

A priceless quote, which will surely come back to haunt Spiers, states â??Political chanting at football, however, is complicated. The Rangers fans also sing about the IRA â?? in fact, arguably more than Celticâ??sâ?

There we go. â??Politicalâ?. The supporters were/are not singing about Sinn Fein, but are singing about the IRA, who are a sectarian murder gang, who have not gone away. They have just rebranded.

If Rangers fans being anti-sectarian, anti-terrorist, and anti violence is now in the same bracket as those supporting such hatred and murder, then God help us

@be1873 also pointed out a couple of other match reports by Spiers on Celtic matches where he had failed to mention the sectarian chanting.

Joining McNally, and Spiers on this platform of hypocrisy are the â??Fans against Criminalisationâ? group, which is a bizarre creation set up to fight the anti sectarian bill, in order to give licence for Celtic fans to sing songs in support of all eras of the Sectarian IRA.

The collective heads in the sands attitudes of those not wishing to embrace the 21st century, is Scotlandâ??s real shame.

Now, given that the bigots are mobilising, I would not be at all surprised if the UEFA charge fizzles out amidst a swamping of flawed lies and propaganda that just sicken UEFA too much to be bothered with.

In the last 24 hours since this report became news, the propagandists have started on the deflection campaign which has seen release of Fans banning orders for last season, which neglects the previous statistics of since 2002

The Herald has also reported on an alleged sectarian tweet of a former Tory aide telling us his full name, which is really irresponsible, given that he has never been charged with any offence.

The intimidation of any preceievd enemies of Celtic is nothing new, and perhaps is one of the reasons for such radio silence amongst the media, as well as some media figures actually being Irish Republicans.

With the Senior Police Officer who reported the chants being outed and smeared already, despite him being a Celtic supporter, and a Roman Catholic, it is perfectly clear that the bigots will not let anyone stand in their way of their agenda to promote sectarianism and terrorism

One can only hope that amidst the deluge of lies and propaganda, that the truth will somehow miraculously get through to the authorities both in Scotland, and at UEFA. We have to pray that submissions to defend the Celtic support that are inaccurate, misleading and irresponsible are treated with the contempt they deserve.

Maybe I'm missing something horribly, but the comment attributed to me is not what I said.

Well, there's only a few of us here with the ability to edit those comments Danny and I haven't edited any of them, so if someone has changed what you wrote it wiznae me!
