Two held amid disorder at Celtic match

Police confirm two people were arrested at Celtic Park during Saturday's game with Hibernian.

Two people were arrested after disorder at Celticâ??s match against Hibernian on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses said trouble flared in the Celtic stands shortly before the end of the game.

It was reported to have started around 10 minutes before the end of the game in the â??Green Brigadeâ? section of the stands.

A Strathclyde Police spokesman confirmed that two people had been arrested in connection with a disturbance in the ground.

One eyewitness said: â??The police started to lift people. Some of the fans started running along the stands, and there was something going on underneath the stands too.â?

The match saw protests against the Scottish Government's Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Bill, designed to â??eradicateâ? sectarianism from Scottish football.

Celtic fans waved banners reading â??Fans Against Criminalisationâ? and â??Kill The Billâ?.

Celtic and Rangers fans had earlier gathered in Glasgowâ??s George Square to protest against the bill, which they have described as being overly heavy-handed.

The match finished goalless and left Celtic 12 points behind Rangers, who lead the SPL.

It was the second meeting between the two clubs in four days, following Wednesday's Communities League Cup quarter-final â?? which also saw disorder amongst fans.

Police said Celtic and Hibs fans were involved in â??pre-organised football related violenceâ? after the match, which Celtic won 4-1.

When in doubt, have a fight.

It seems they misinterpt 'the fighting Irish' phrase. Or do they???

Still, the bill is shite, so if it was for that reason, all football fans of the OF are going to have a hard time in the years ahead.

Reported on FF that the Fanny Brigade all got up and left on mass but we're held under the stand. Where more fighting broke out and Strathclydes Finest gave them a bit of a skelping.

What Rangers fans joined them for the pre-match protest, never heard about that.

What is that all about? notice a portion of cellik fans NOT taking part in that non related football chant....those who sing a pointless song like that will only help to heap more shame to that sorry football club.

Could I care? Only that another 2 points were dropped - the players must be simply pissed off with that shite.
