Guest Dutchy
I think it all depends what happens in the January window, and that in turn will depend on how many he scores between now and then. If he starts scoring freely, we should be holding out for £10+ million, instead of accepting a paltry £6 million. I agree though, it would be great to have him stay, but highly unlikely if he keeps scoring.
54andcounting 0
Jelly's a fine centre-forward, but sorry lads...the guy is somewhere else, if he copped another 3 month lay off we'd still win the league, anyone playing as main striker for 'Gers right now other than Jelly would be top scorer in Scotland if not Britain, simply because of the style of our play. Boydie scored a cracker against the Jags in a league cup game some years ago which outshines anybody's goal, but he always wanted MORE...and always managed it. Jelavic seems to score then assumes he's earned his weeks massive wage. Edited October 28, 2011 by 54andcounting
Gribz 1,197
Id say he is the best we've had since Prso. Overall if he stays long enough he might well start climbing up the ranks towards McCoist. There is no doubt the quality Jelavic has got, even when he looks a bit sluggish (possibly due to the injury) he is still miles ahead of any other striker in the country. His pace is deceiving and agree with the article he has the all round game. When he was out last season I remember saying when he returns he could be the man who blasts us to the title....he pretty much did that with winners at Hamilton etc but McGregors awesome performances are as much part of winning the title as Jelavics goals.
pete 2,511
To be honest Jelavic is a far better all round footballer than McCoist could ever have dreamed of being but i doubt if he will ever score as many as Ally did.
