Kane Hemmings is also back training now. This is from the official Gers facebook page. The players are (left to right): Hemmings, Mitchell, Ness, Crawford, Hegarty, Wylde, Sise, Marenghi.

Question (perhaps S_A can explain seeing as he knows sports science).

Why is it only those considered 1st teamers have the electronic monitoring on ? Once you have these things the running costs surely arent that high, so why not have ALL players on them as we would probably be able to give them customised programs for optimal fitness, no ??

Back on topic..... good to see Bartley and Ness back in there. Hemmings too although he is more of an unknown than the other two.

Yep, when we get those injuries heaven help us having to rely on guys such as Ness & Bartley..... find another comfort blanket you Celtic supporting journalistic twats.

Is that what those sports bra's are? I was maybe thinking it was a new design of bibs for 5-asides.

Im hoping Hemmings can get 100% fit and we see him in action. With the striker dept being the area we are a bit short in Im looking forward to seeing him and think he has good potential. Quite an exciting prospect.

I can only assume its down to the monetary costs or the time costs of analysing the data and so they are only monitoring first team players. Its either having a lack of monitors for non-first team players, or not having the time or money to get more man hours to analyse non-first team data.

They possibly have one monitor per first teamer and it is easier logistically for analysis purposes to keep one monitor per player as then you always know which player's data you are monitoring as opposed to having to continually monitor who is wearing each monitor each session.

May of course be none of the above reasons i'm just guessing based on my experiences with other monitoring systems.

I keep forgetting we have Kyle Bartley.

My own defence thread and this one are quite positive, but one negative I would suggest is he looked quite poor against St Johnstone (was that the match he managed) - didn't seem to be quite up to speed yet.

From what we've seen of Bartley....he appears to be good, but rather injury prone. Therefore, how effective is he REALLY gonna be later on in the season?? Not gonna help if he plays one, then sits out 10 through injury....
