ian1964 10,761
A CELTIC fan punched a steward at Tynecastle during a match between Celtic and Hearts - minutes after Jambo John Wilson tangled with Neil Lennon on the touchline. Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard today how 19-year-old James Addison struck a steward as a â??large meleeâ? broke out in the away stand. The atmosphere had intensified during the crunch match in May after Wilson ran onto the pitch and approached the Celtic boss. Addison, a plumber from Cumbernauld, was fined £1000 after pleading guilty to the offence. He claimed he was trying to help a friend who was being held by steward Graeme McKechnie as bedlam broke out among the Celtic support, who clashed with police. Sheriff Kenneth MacIver did not hand down a football banning order, but added that the Glasgow club may take their own action. http://www.scotsman.com/edinburgh-evening-news/edinburgh/around-the-capital/celtic_fan_fined_1000_for_punching_steward_after_hearts_fan_approached_lennon_1_1928543

GovanAllan 0
Wonder if Galloway and the queer QC will be asking for an inquiry on this decision. Can't believe he didn't get a banning order, so John Wilson misses the ginger bigot and gets 5 year banning order, this muppet actually punches a steward and nothing. The world has turned upside.
Super_Ally 0
Completely and utterly bizarre that no banning order is given out for physical violence and yet people can be banned for words and songs. How are they not forced to defend and explain these ridiculous outcomes?
Zappa 0
Someone was just jailed for 8 months for making a supposed sectarian comment online and a fan charged with assault at a match gets let off scot free with a small fine? WTF is going on in this country?
Zappa 0
Oh wait! I get it now! This guy was a Celtic fan and the guy jailed for 8 months was a Rangers fan. Now it makes sense.
