Ergatrude 0
It actually is in quotes... Not in the article above it's not. It is something I would expect him to say though, especially after the Man U rumour that he started himself. It could have been a typo too. Either way, he was right. But these comments should be kept for post season to avoid egg-on-face.
54andcounting 0
Jelly is spot on and there's nothing wrong with him stating the obvious, but my moan is the man isn't quite doing it for us at the moment, sure we're 10 clear but Jelly gives the impression he couldn't give a fcuk right now, maybe he thinks by coming out with those comments it will get him favour with the fans. Personally it doesn't wash with me....c'mon Jelly, shut yer mouth and start earning your corn on the pitch mate.
calscot 0
It's just a typo by someone forgetting to close the quote. The inclusion of the word 'we' suggests that it was a direct quote and it probably was, but Jela isn't telling any porkies because we DID destroy them in the second half. They obviously expected to come out to face the same Rangers in the 2nd half, but they came out to face a superior opponent. It's not a typo in the slightest, it's proper punctuation. When you are quoting a person you open the inverted commas; if in their speaking they start a new paragraph you don't close the inverted commas, you start a new paragraph with open inverted commas again. If you closed the inverted commas before the new paragraph, you are signalling that the next paragraph is spoken by a different person. I don't know - back to school for you lot... :fish:
Ergatrude 0
Now can you explain proper use of apostrophies please?
craig 5,199
Damned if you do, damned if you dont. People on here were complaining because we were paying teams too much respect (Malmo & Maribor come to mind). Now we are complaining because we are showing the "we are good enough to win" attitude that people were asking for back then. Which way do we want it ? A bit unfair to expect management & players to show confidence on one hand and then expect respect for other teams on the other, especially when we are asking for respect for Celtic....

Whe you do your talking on the pitch then you are entitled to talk facts off the pitch, and we have done that. He is only saying what is correct,IMO.

Hmmmm.
Whosthedado 1,850
I've got no problem with what Jela has said. I just hope he backs it up on the pitch unlike what a certain Mr Commons did:spl:
ian1964 10,870
Celtic players do it and we hound them and laugh about it. Our players do it and it's alright? Hmmmm. As said previously,we have the right to do it. We have been the best team in the league for the last three seasons and are proving,so far, we are the best team in the league this season. Now that's hardly the same is it?. When the BHEASTS say things like that there is no basis what so ever for them saying it.When our players say it they are only telling the truth. We are the champions they are not. craig 5,199
Celtic players do it and we hound them and laugh about it. Our players do it and it's alright? Hmmmm. Dont get me wrong, I prefer silence until we have secured the title. But some are being hypocritical (not necessarily you Gav) expecting us to show teams LESS respect and now, effectively, saying we should show Celtic MORE respect. What Jelavic said is true though, we DID destroy them in the 2nd half. When you hear the likes of Samaras or Commons (younger, fitter, stronger) with what they say it is not factual and often it is the opposite of what the more rational fans are seeing.
