Sorry Craig, there was supposed to be a wink after my post not sure what happened there.

 

The good think about jelavic was he didnt even need a year to prove himself, we could all see the quality in him straight away. Like you previously said last season he does look heavy when running, but its his style, he is actually quicker than he looks. But the quality is there to be seen and despite naismiths good form he just isnt near the player Jelavic is IMO.

No worries, the wife obviously annoyed me this morning and made me post in anger. She needs a slap....

 

The one thing is there is absolutely no doubt that Jelavic is class. You can tell with his technique when attempting these overhead kicks. He currently is lacking in form, confidence or something else but definitely a class player.

 

Where I will disagree is that Naismith isnt near the player Jelavic is. IMO he is every bit as good a player as Jelavic although it is difficult to make comparisons as they are different types of player.

 

The timing of runs made by Naismith is unparallelled in our team and, IMO, in Scotland. He times his runs to perfection. Perfect example being his 1st (I think) goal against Dunfermlime. He is a creative player who has so far scored 8 or 9 goals this season.... from midfield. Most teams would be happy with 10 of a contribution over a SEASON. Naismith is almost there in less than a quarter of the season played.

 

Jelavic holds play up well, links up well and scores. But Naismith does all this too. I also think that Naismith is more creative than Jelavic.

 

We all have our opinions and we all see players differently. I have no issue with you thinking Jelavic is a better player than Naismith as that is how you see it. I just think differently.

 

He isnt the only one, but when Naismith isnt playing, or isnt playing well, our team performance suffers, Tuesday night was an example of that. Although given Jelavic was poor on Tuesday night some would argue the same with him. I just think that Naismith brings something to our team that Jelavic doesnt.

 

Not denying Jelavic's quality, not at all. But they way both of them are currently performing I think that Naismith is more important to the team than Jelavic - and for that reason, right now, I think he is more valuable.
