theboyharley 5
I think this is a non story. Not entirely sure but Villa dont have much money to spend in Jan. I know he wanted Ki from celtic but didnt have the money towards the end of the window thats just passed. I think its just paper talk trying to unsettle us

Gribz 825
Ummmm, was Jelavic not injured for almost half the campaign last year ? He didnt prove it over a season at all. He proved it over half a season when Miller left and he had returned to full fitness. Funnily enough, IIRC, Naismith was playing very well indeed at the start of last season. Did he not also get an injury which saw his form drop a bit ? IMHO Naismith's form this season, even though only 2 months in, has been better than that of Jelavic since Jelavic joined. Jelavic is a class act, absolutely no doubt about that. But right now he looks a shadow of his former self and his form right now looks, to me at least, to be poorer than any form that Naismith has shown in the last 2 seasons. Last night Jelavic wasnt even getting the basics right in the first half. His first touch was awful and his passing not much better. At one point he tried to lay the ball off to Wylde (I think) and all he succeeded in doing was getting the ball stuck under his own feet. He is suffering from lack of confidence, or perhaps the uncertainty over a move, or something. But to suggest Jelavic proved it over a season last year is inaccurate. Jelavic got injured against Hearts at Tynecastle, right ? That was on October 2nd. He didnt return to the starting line-up till January 26th - so he missed 4 months of last season. Any scout watching our team right now will undoubtedly (at least in my opinion) value Naismith higher than Jelavic. 8 goals in 8 league games largely from right midfield is an incredible return. Just to be clear, this isnt a knock on Jelavic who is quite obviously a class act. But I think that as things stand right now the loss of Naismith would be a bigger loss than Jelavic which, to me, means he is worth more to us. Yet again a typical "im right your wrong" post from Craig.
pete 2,499
I am happy we have both!( and the tims have Loovens:devil:) Personally I do not think there is much between them price wise as they are both excellent players.
bluebear54 0
Are there any confirmed sources for this story? No - I thought so. Journalism has decended to the level of "A guy in the pub told me that ....." Anyway, I think we have entered a new era and if anyone does get sold, it will certainly not be on the cheap. Still think this is a non-story. A mischievous stocking-filler.
Gazza_8 233
Does anyone actually still buy tabloid papers or visit their websites? I've read the front and back pages of the tabloids when at work because they're sitting on the canteen table. I can't bring myself to open them up though. Junk!

Haven't bought a paper since they stopped using them for wraopping fish and chips. Matter of principle. That was the last decent thing they were used for. craig 5,199
Yet again a typical "im right your wrong" post from Craig. Gribz, did Jelavic prove himself over a season last year ? FFS, all I did was point out that it was inaccurate to suggest he proved himself over a season. Am I not allowed to defend my position or am I just to see you retort a post of mine and accept it ? If you see it as a "I'm right your wrong" that is your prerogative. But when it comes to your suggestion that Jelavic proved himself over a season.... correct, I am right and you are wrong. Rather than have a dig at my posting style how about you actually debate what I posted if you think I am wrong. That would be far more interesting than a one line "Craig thinks he knows best" type of post.
