ian1964 10,761
WOEFUL whistler Kevin Blom has been kicked out of Holland's top flight and axed for the Euro 2012 finals. SunSport can reveal the dreadful Dutchman has been hammered in his homeland over his appalling performance at Hampden on Saturday. Blundering Blom had been in the running to represent the Netherlands in the Ukraine and Poland next summer. But former top ref Dick Jol insists that WON'T happen now. He said: "The decision has been made and Bjorn Kuipers will be the one the KNVB will be nominating for the European Championships. "Actually, Blom's display didn't surprise me. "Last season he dished out five red cards and most of them were dropped on review. "The difference between normal refereeing and refereeing at the highest level is in the final phase of a match. "That's when most red cards, penalties and decisive goals occur. That's when a referee has to be extra sharp and be right on top of all situations." Blom's shocker as he wrongly awarded the Czechs a penalty then booked Christophe Berra for diving in the box when he was fouled in the 2-2 draw has also cost him his place in Holland's top flight. Dick van Egmond, boss of the referees committee in Holland, confirmed Blom has been dropped to a second tier match this weekend. metlika 0
SO why was he allowed to ref?
Guest Dutchy
The ref was appalling, but so were Scotland and there doesn't seem much can be doen about that. Remember, Charlie Adam should have lost a penalty and sent off as well. I did think the booking for Berra was particulary hard to take, surely that's worth appealing over?
metlika 0
Can't appeal bookings.
Guest Dutchy
Can't appeal bookings. That sounds about right, but if you could, we should, but we can't, so we won't.
Zappa 0
Same old sensationalist drivel from SunSport's Andy Pandy. Headline = 'Blom Gets Boot'. Truth = Blom Doesn't Get Boot. Bulb Munching Blom should be relegated to refereeing five-a-side basket weavers at one of Holland's many funny farms.
