Why is Naismith being allowed to play for Scotland with an injury?

well done Scotland and the injured match winner Naismith :)

I thought he played great johnny, but I did see him limping once or twice and I'm still concerned that he's playing through an injury by taking painkillers.

I remember meeting Eddie Turnbull, one of the ex-Hibees famous five. He was also famous for taking painkiilers and playing through the pain. An ex of mine got a job working for him in his bar down Easter Road way and he walked with a terrible limp and was a bitter old bastard. I couldn't tell if he was bitter because of all the bar flies asking him continuously to solve questions, or he knew that what he'd done crippled him for life.

Apparenty, you can't do that sort of thing these days. Helath & Safety and all that jazz.

I'm sure he'll be well looked after Zappa and i'm sure the Scotland docs or Rangers wouldn't have let him do it if it was too much of a risk to his short or long term health. Good to see someone wanting to play through the pain barrier to help his country out, not many of those about these days.

That's true. I seem to remember Commons dropping out of the national squad at one point because he was 'tired'. :violin:
