Quite right

Celtic have been reinstated in the Europa League after Uefa expelled Sion from the competition.

Sion, who had been subject to a transfer embargo, fielded several new signings during their 3-1 aggregate win over Celtic in the play-off round.

A Celtic spokesman said: "We have been advised by UEFA that the two protests relating to the matches against FC Sion have been upheld."

"As a result of which each match has been forfeited in favour of Celtic.

The spokesman added: "We are pleased by this decision, the approach which has been taken by UEFA and the fact that UEFA rules and regulations have been upheld. We are also grateful for the support of the SFA in this matter."

Sion have three days to appeal the verdict.

Well they go to Spain to play Athletico the Thursday before they come to Ibrox, so in that way, it improves our already good chance of making it 4iar, as well as the possibility of them qualifying and improving Scotlands coeficient.

Undeserved technicality. They will get pumped 5 times though. They might scrape a draw with Rennes at their home.

Exactly - I was just thinking, that, although they might be ecstatic today, IMO there will be a lot of tears along the way when they get humiliated in Europe and lose ground to us in the league.

Apparently Celtic fans are arranging a beach ball and passport party again when they come to ibrox! :(

Unoriginal and quite pathetic.

We should have "sporting integrity an Celtic.... irony" banners.

It actually makes absolutely NO sense for them to do the beach ball thing because they got pumped out of Europe too and only got back in by default.
