Any Lafferty haters on here?

Recommended Posts

My old man is one, he just can't see any good in the guy and refuses to acknowledge anything positive about him. Of course his gas was at a peep towards the end of last season as the big man ended the season with hat tricks and glory goals. Well, when this season started big stuff was getting it again. His crime this time? being injured when we needed him!

As a general point though, do we think big Laff is now well on his way to winning over the boo boys? I've got to say I've been a fan for most of his time at Rangers and have taken pelters for consistently saying I think he'll be playing centre forward for Rangers for years to come so I'm getting a certain satisfaction from his goals and form. He still has a way to go of course, he needs to keep his form going over a season and he needs to stay fit but I reckon were now seeing why we spent the big bucks on him.

Was the only person on my Rangers bus who stuck up for him and it got quite heated at times but glad to say the big lad is slowly turning them around to the point, on first game of the season the general consensus was he would be sadly missed had a field day with that on the way to Ibrox. But there is two or three around me at Ibrox who make it their lifes work to run the big lad down at every occasion been close to blows there as well.

Hater is a big word but I will admit I didn't really see him making it at Ibrox. To be honest I don't think he was doing himself any favours with his stupid off-field antics. His attitude on the field as well seemed to be lacking. He now seems to be taking things more serious now and is slowly winning over the fans and me.

Well he was only 20 at the time. Shows what a bit of maturity and experience does for you. 23-33 is the best age range for a football team unless you have special players outside that range.

22-33? You just pluck numbers and stats from thin air in an attempt to make your arguement sound good.

I felt like the only person on Gersnet who had anything decent to say about him quite frankly.

You cant really pull the I told you so card. Your views on him on here flip-flopped when you first arrived.

And Gav, whilst Cal's numbers are not hard and fast he's prob not far out. Most players mature into first teamers in their early twenties and start to tail off again in their early to mid-thirties. There are of course exceptions but it's a fair generalisation.
