ian1964 10,870
RANGERS legend Andy Goram believes the Ibrox club can go all the way to the Europa League final this season. After crashing out of their Champions League qualifier to Swedish side Malmo, Ally McCoist's Rangers side face Maribor in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie in Slovenia tomorrow night Former Scotland goalkeeper Andy Goram, who was a mainstay of the Light Blues' squad which captured nine-in-a-row during the late 1980s and 1990s, claims the Scottish champions have now found their level and could replicate their run to the UEFA Cup final in 2008 where they were beaten in the Manchester final by Zenit St Petersburg. "It was disappointing going out of the Champions League but we were never going to win it anyway ââ?¬Å? said Goram. "We have dropped down to the Europa League and when we did that a few years ago we got to the UEFA Cup final in Manchester. Ã?¬ If we play like we can do there is nothing to stop us Ã?® Andy Goram "And if we play like we can do there is nothing to stop us doing it again. We have found our level and we are decent at that level. We got to Manchester with a team that was supposedly not very good and we also won the (cup) double. "At this stage that season, people were saying 'could we?' And we got to the final. So, believe." http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/265451/Andy-Goram-says-Rangers-can-reach-final
Danny 0
Suppose you can't knock positivity but Goram really does come out with some bollocks.
metlika 0
Last 16/32 would be a good enough achievement don't really want to spend too long in Europe especially since there is no CL football but don't want to go out to Maribor all the same.

Love the goalie to death but he does make you cringe now and again. Quick question arguing with the mate what is set up of the groups for euro league is it still 5 teams some home some away games.

No, its a 4 team group, about 12 groups, with home and away fixtures, just like a poor mans CL. It changed from the 5 team group when the UEFA Cup name was dropped for the Europa League.

That's three home games at about 1 mill a game once you add together gate money tv money, ok so it's not the silly money of the CL but it's still not to be sniffed at, get it done Rangers.
