Right back is a problem position

It looked pretty clear to me that the team selection for the game in Perth was based on trying something out that had been discussed as an option for the game in Malmo.

When it opened we had the major 3 defenders we were after - Wilson, Cuellar and Bartley. We've managed to get one of them. Maybe that's a sign of averages. That out of 3 players we want, we'll get one?

 

I think there's still a chance that we'll get Cuellar, but I wouldn't bank on it. We were never in a rush to complete that deal though because he was still injured.

 

I do wonder who else we'll manage to get. It's been a strange window. A very poor one really till we got a small trickle of players, then a big boost in getting Bartley.

 

At least we're actually getting players in. Goian is an extremely experienced defender to get for what we paid and Wallace has been pretty impressive so far. I'd still like us to bring in the lad Bedoya if possible and maybe another winger although in all honesty Bendikson looks good as an option for the wings.

Wallace is slowly winning me over.

 

I wasn't at all happy at signing him, but he looks like a decent and dynamic LB.

Someone just reminded me of another option we have for right back - Juan Ortiz. Right footed, hard working, likes a tackle and played full back for Almeria.

We still have Darren Cole aswell who can play at right back I thought he looked ok against Bursaspor last season bit nervous but that was understandable

 

would he be long term answer might ? I think it might be too early to throw him straight in though
