ascender 352
Apparently klos had no chance with either goal. I really hope he gets back in the team, and gives us some consistency. Here's a question - if Letizi was brought in as our no questions asked number one, why wasn't he given the number one jersey? I know Klos is on a nice little earner, but if PLG had no intention of playing him, then surely some sort of agreement would have been reached to release him?
Frankie 8,663
Klos is retiring in the summer and moving to Switzerland so won't play much (if any) part in the rest of the season. He refused any contract termination so I'm led to believe.
calscot 0
Contract termination usually means offering less than is left on the contract so there are reasons Klos would not want that. I think the main reason is to do with his kids schooling which he wants them to finish their year. In the meantime he probably prefers to come in, train and play than do nothing especially as he was injured and as an employee will get full medical and physiotherapy support.

Not sure about the kids schooling reasoning - I was under the impression that he was offered the termination pre-season (or even before) which is before the school year starts. All speculation anyhow.
Gribz 919
Durrant on Klos: Rangers manager Paul Le Guen faces another tough goalkeeping decision with the return of Stefan Klos. Klos has been out since March with knee ligament damage but played the 90 minutes as Rangers reserves drew 2-2 with Aberdeen. Gers reserve team coach Ian Durrant said Klos' return would give Le Guen a selection headache. "We now have an abundance of top quality goalkeepers at the club so the manager faces a big dilemma," he said. Durrant said Klos still had much to offer the Ibrox side. "Stefan did well considering it was his first game for a long time and you could see the old agility is still there," he said. "He is a fantastic goalkeeper and in the two years I have been back at the club I've been impressed by the standards he sets himself. "He is a winner who has played at the highest level and it says everything about him that he was desperate to get back playing even though it was on a bleak night in Montrose." Le Guen's decision to drop Allan McGregor in favour of Lionel Letizi caused controversy among Rangers fans, who felt McGregor should have kept his place. According to Durrant it doesnt sound like he just wants to see out his career. C'mon Der Goalie.
Frankie 8,663
When we're paying a guy £38K per week, they are not going to say he's winding down his career and isn't interested - that is the case unfortunately. I might be wrong but the guy told me the information is pretty reliable and going by Klos's attitude over the last 18months (and when he fell out of faour at Dortmund) I think it's believable enough.
elderslieblue 0
I'll be perfectly honest here.......... I never, ever rated Klos as a keeper. A shot-stopper yes. But a keeper has to do a whole lot more than that to be a success imo.

He did have weaknesses - kicking and claiming crosses, but his shot stopping was second to none. I hope to see him back in our first team soon

ascender 352
Klos is one of those players who, over a season, will win you points with his individual performances. I think you need guys like him in the team if you're going to win titles. I never knew about that stuff Frankie, that's pretty poor. Shame his attitude stinks then.
